Upcoming Holiday Hours
On June 5, members of Compaction America
Federal Credit Union (CAFCU) voted by more
than 90 percent to merge with IHMVCU.
“With the announcement by BOMAG to close
the Kewanee plant, CAFCU was faced with
a difficult decision about providing future
services to our membership,” said Marc
Murray, CAFCU Board President. “As a result,
the Board of Directors and I felt the best
opportunity for the credit union was to merge
with IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union.”
“IHMVCU is about improving the financial well-being of the communities we serve,” said Dennis Hall,
IHMVCU President. “We’re excited for this opportunity and look forward to serving our newest members,
and supporting the Kewanee community.”
In addition, IHMVCU will open a new branch in Kewanee to serve the combined membership.
Construction details and timelines are still being finalized.
“The CAFCU board and I are extremely pleased the membership has approved this merger, and we look
forward to the great opportunities that lie ahead for our staff and members,” said Murray.

Navigating the Mortgage Process Post 2008
We’ve heard enough about the 2008 mortgage crisis to last a lifetime, but the long and the short of it is
bad underwriting and poor documentation led to a lot of foreclosures and individuals upside down on
their homes.
It’s also important to know that IHMVCU retains servicing on nearly all mortgage loans. So when you
have questions after the purchase, we can help with that too.
Buying a house may seem daunting, but with the right financial partner the process can be as simple,
straightforward and seamless as possible. For mortgages that get you moving, visit
ihmvcu.org/StartHere.
Estate Planning Seminar
An Overview of Will, Trusts, and More
Many people assume that Revocable Living Trusts are just for the wealthy, but the benefits that they
can offer to the average person are significant.
Estate planning should be approached in the same manner that you would approach any other
important decision in your life. It’s important to understand the main benefits that a Revocable Living
Trust offers over a Last Will and Testament, when deciding whether or not to set one up as part of your
estate plan.
Estate planning is about getting the right legal documents in place to plan for the possibility of mental
incapacity and death. Learn all about the essential estate planning documents, including Last Will and
Testaments, Revocable Living Trusts, Irrevocable Trusts, and more at this seminar.

Prophetstown Strong
On July 15, members of the Prophetstown community gathered
at Eclipse Square to commemorate the one year anniversary of
the fire that destroyed seven historic buildings on Main Street.
Along with a cookout and ceremony lead by local pastor,
Cheri Stewart, representatives from IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union
got involved by officially breaking ground for a new
Prophetstown Branch.
The project is supported by both the Prophetstown City Council
and Prophetstown Main Street Association.
“We’ve been serving the Prophetstown community for more than
10 years,” says Dennis Hall, president of IH Mississippi Valley
Credit Union. “When we learned of the devastating fire on Main
Street, we were committed to helping the recovery efforts.”
This branch will be the first step of many to rebuild Prophetstown
Main Street and bring life back to a strong and resilient community.

Cash for Class
Scholarship Recipients
Summer is all about having fun, and IHMVCU’s annual
member advantages are here to help get you there! Why?
Because YOU’RE WORTH MORE!
If you took out a mortgage or refinanced your home in the last five years, there may have been more
questions or requests for information. It may take a little more effort than in the past, but it’s one of the
ways we ensure you get a mortgage that fits your life and budget.
Your first step in the mortgage process is to understand all of your options – before, during and after
the purchase –and talking to our mortgage experts will help you do just that. In most cases, a 20-minute
conversation and supporting documentation can get you pre-approved. It does take time to pull together
pay stubs, tax returns, W2s and bank statements, but this documentation not only protects the credit
union, but it protects you too.
