BACKGROUND ( Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be
accomplished )
Charlotte County Public Works nominated Ajax Paving Industries of Florida, LLC as the 2014 State of
Florida American Public Works Association (APWA) - Contractor of the Year award for the excellent work
that was performed during the 2012 Charlotte County Paving Program. This program consisted of two
separate contracts of which Ajax Paving Industries was the successful bidder on both. Each contract
concluded under budget and ahead of time. After careful consideration by the APWA’s award committee
of all the Contractors that submitted for this award, it was determined that Ajax Paving Industries of
Florida, LLC clearly adhered to and exceeded the requirements for both contracts. Consequently, Ajax
Paving, Inc. was named “Contractor of the Year” at this year’s Florida Chapter- American Public Works
Association Expo and Trade show.
