Envirowall Strawboard is lightweight, strong, impactresistant and, of course, made of 97% waste straw. Its
integral strength means it can easily hold the weight
of shelves, pictures, radiators etc..
With moisture and impact resistance as standard
Envirowall Strawboard offers new levels of protec�on
over and above standard MDF, chipboard or plasterboard whilst removing the dependence on �mber
based products.
Envirowall can also be supplied unfinished direct to
you or your supply chain. Our patented Envirowall
Strawboard panel core is easily cut and routered,
providing a wealth of possibili�es for fixtures and
fi�ngs. This allows us to create not only sustainable
wall panels but also sustainable fixtures such as
counters, displays, recep�on desks, work- tops and
kitchens, etc..
The raw board is then machined, shaped and finished
to make it suitable for a high quality building interior.
Envirowall Strawboard FR is now cer�fied to Class C
Surface Spread of Flame European Standard BS EN
13823:2010 and BS EN ISO 11925-2:2010.
Envirowall Strawboard is inherently strong and resists
impacts. It can be used either as an alterna�ve to
plasterboard (now a hazardous waste) and MDF or as an
eco-board for use in applica�ons where sustainability is
at the top of your agenda.
Envirowall Strawboard is 100% recyclable and biodegradable and does not incorporate any harmful
substances such as formaldehydes or sulphates.
Finish op�ons are limitless and include foil wrapping,
melamine, laminate and water based spray applica�ons.
The only limit is your imagina�on.
The low energy manufacturing process mixes natural
straw with a zero formaldehyde resin in a large hopper.
The homogenous material is then heated and extruded,
before pressure is applied to the composite material
to produce a compressed rigid straw board.

Our 100% recycled paper panels are highly fire-resistant,
especially compared to standard MDF, chipboard and
plasterboard. Envirowall Paperboard is moistureresistant as standard and has greater load bearing
capacity than plasterboard. What’s more, our paper
panels come pre-finished to a high standard ~ meaning
there’s no need for on-site decora�on saving you �me
and money.
Envirowall Paperboard is produced out of everyday
waste paper ~ newspapers, magazines, etc. ~ which is
pulped, then mixed with waste gypsum and recycled
water before being reformed into dense sheet material
that is ideal for imagina�ve and environmentally friendly
interior design. It can be sculpted into individual
bespoke pa�erns, or is simply available as modular
laminated panels.
Already used by leading retailers and in offices around
the UK, Envirowall Paperboard is well suited to high
traffic environments as it requires li�le maintenance
to retain its high quality finish. What’s more, once
you’ve finished using Envirowall Paperboard, it can be
recycled again to produce more paper panels.
Envirowall Paperboard is also a popular choice in public
sector buildings such as schools where longevity is
essen�al to reducing ongoing maintenance costs.

melamine, laminate, foil wraps or veneers.
Our Veneered boards and Laminates can also be
offered in FSC variants. Our latest range of finishes
include exci�ng new developments brought to you by
leading brands in the market place such as Formica,
Polyrey, Wilsonart and LG. These include foil wrapped
panels using a biodegradeable foils by LG ~ a first in
the industry. Bamboo veneers also offer a sustainable

Wrapping our boards with Kydex is a greener method
of foil wrapping but provides a very durable finish that
will stand up to heavy impacts and resists damage
even be�er than a high pressure laminate. They are
also fire resistant. The added benefit of Kydex is that it

innova�on using banana plant veneers. This very fine
layered veneer is made from the waste of a banana
plant once it has been harvested and creates a unique

Just like MDF and chipboard, Envirowall provides a
sturdy yet lightweight material that is ideal for all
kinds of fixtures such as counters, worktops, desks and
cupboards. It can also be used to construct facili�es
such as changing rooms and cubicles in shops or leisure
centres, providing quick assembly as well as impressive
impact and moisture resistance.
Of course, the Envirowall advantage is that it is made
of 100% recycled material ~ either straw or paper ~
and waste is minimised throughout the manufacturing
and distribu�on process. As a result, all fixtures using
Envirowall are more sustainable than MDF and chipboard counterparts, and available at a comparable cost.

All Envirowall panels and products undergo rigorous
tes�ng to confirm their strength and suitability for
purpose. We have also ensured that they have been
fully assessed under building control regula�ons and
EU environmental standards. As a result, we have
received independent verifica�on of Envirowall’s
suitability to replace MDF, Chipboard and plasterboard in almost any situa�on, and of our industryleading green performance creden�als.
Weight and load bearing ability
The weight and load bearing ability of Envirowall panels
depends on their density ~ strawboard panels are
available in low, medium and high density. However,
for comparison purposes, a 12.5mm thick Envirowall
paper panel can hold up to 30kg on a single screw.
This compares to just 3kg for standard plasterboard.
Envirowall strawboard can hold up to 152kg on a
single screw.
Impact resistance
Plasterboard is notoriously suscep�ble to impact
damage. Any Envirowall product offers superior
impact resistance to plasterboard, and our paper panels
and high density strawboard are both rated as offering
“high” impact resistance, the same as MDF.
Fire resistance
Untreated Envirowall Paperboard was tested for fire
propaga�on in accordance with BS476 and showed nil
flame spread. All Envirowall Paperboards are deemed
fire resistant for up to half an hour or 1 hour and Class 0
surface spread of flame as standard ~ in other words,
non-combus�ble. Envirowall Strawboard, meanwhile,
when treated with an addi�onal fire resistant ingredient,
can provide a Class C resistance to surface spread of
flame BS EN 13823:2010 and BS EN ISO 11925-2:2010.
Moisture resistance
Envirowall panels can offer good moisture resistance
up to P5 grade. Envirowall has also been tested
successfully for resistance to �mber destroying fungi.
Environmental standards
Made en�rely from waste material, Envirowall meets
the highest environmental standards. In par�cular, all
our products are free from formaldehyde, have
negligible VOC levels and an extremely low carbon
footprint.
Building regula�ons
Envirowall Paperboard meet England and Wales
building regula�ons and Bri�sh Standard requirements
for a Class 0 surface spread of flame.

THE FUTURE
Envirowall is dedicated to crea�ng a be�er environment
for us all to enjoy. That means that not only are our
end products green, but the produc�on, distribu�on
and end-of-life processes are equally eco-friendly.
Our ‘raw’ materials are far from raw: all of our products
are made from either waste agricultural straw
(otherwise used as animal bedding or simply burned)
or waste paper (recycled newspapers and magazines).
We also use recycled water and waste gypsum. No
addi�ves or formaldehydes are used during the
produc�on process, and any off-cuts from the panels
are fed directly back into the produc�on process. In this
way, we ensure that no waste is sent to landfill. There
is no need for waste to be thrown away, and we can
o�en take packaging away with us on delivery.

Furthermore, we offer a green installa�on process,
using our expert team and specialist products which
again eliminates waste, and the associated disposal
charges.
When you no longer need an Envirowall product, or
want to update panels or fixtures, you can simply
recycle the material once again. We can help with this
process at customer request, collec�ng the panels and
managing the recycling process ~ or be�er s�ll,
refurbishing them with new colours or finishes and
re-installing them.
This commitment to con�nual waste management is a
central part of our business, and has made us a supplier

reduce waste in their business.
