“ Where the World Gathers” About IUJ The International University of Japan (IUJ) was created in 1982, as Japan's first graduateschool-only university, by bold leaders with a unique vision representing business, government and world organizations. IUJ equips students with interdisciplinary skills covering politics, economics and management, as well as historical and cultural perspectives to take on current global issues from their chosen professions. IUJ's Education Programs GSIR IRP International Relations Program (IRP): (Two-year track) MA in International Relations This track educates students to be effective global leaders in various fields of today's global society, giving them a deep and multi-disciplinary understanding of politics, economy, and primary societal trends as well as the cultural and historical backgrounds of global issues. MA in International Peace Studies This track takes on global issues such as armed conflict and peace building, poverty reduction and development, destruction of the environment and sustainable development, gender discrimination, and other issues related to "human security." IDP International Development Program (IDP): (Two-year track) MA in International Development In pursuit of a peaceful and environmentally-friendly, poverty-free international community, this track prepares professionals to tackle development issues, equipped with solid expertise, practical skills, and scientific theories. MA in Economics This track equips students with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary macroeconomic issues and to help them contribute to sustainable economic growth and development in Asia and the Pacific. Graduate School of International Relations The Graduate School of International Relations (GSIR), which addresses global issues in the public sector, is dedicated to developing professionals by educating students towards acquiring a long-term vision of the rapidly changing world, enhancing their analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities in a wide range of contemporary international affairs, and appreciating diverse perspectives in global and local contexts. http://gsir.iuj.ac.jp/ PMPP PPP GSIM Graduate School of International Management The Graduate School of International Management (GSIM), which addresses global issues in the private sector, is dedicated to developing tomorrow's global leaders by providing students with the opportunity to study and solve the challenges of actual global, national and local businesses. The role of the GSIM is to launch well-rounded general managers who will contribute to the development of their countries and societies. Public Policy Program (PPP): (One-year track) Master of Public Policy The objective of this program is to equip students with fundamental knowledge and practical skills in the fields of international relations, international development, and public management to prepare them for policy formulating careers. This program is designed, in principle, for those who have about 2 years of work experience. MBA Program: (Two-year track) Master of Business Administration The IUJ MBA offers multidisciplinary curricula encompassing all the important core courses including Finance, Marketing, Product Development, Management, IT, and Human Resources Management with an emphasis on emerging markets. IMBA IMBA Program: (One-year track) Master of Business Administration This one-year Intensive MBA program is designed for students with about five years of expertise through their work and who are being groomed for potential global general management challenges following graduation. E-Biz E-Business Management Program (e-Biz): (One-year track) Master of E-Business Management The e-Business Management Program is a one-year Master's course that trains managers to add value through technology. Students can choose courses from flexible offerings including MBA classes. English Language Program English is the official language at IUJ. Those needing extra support are encouraged to take our 8-week Intensive English Program (IEP) in the summer before they become full-time students. Then, throughout the academic year English and academic writing courses are offered to be sure all graduates are equipped with a high level of competency in this key professional tool. Japanese Language Program Many students come to IUJ with a professional goal of gaining a foothold in this special country. Those planning to work in Japan after IUJ, or those returning to their home countries but wanting to be a bridge for their country back to Japan find our Japanese language program very rewarding. (1) Facilities・Campus Activities Matsushita Library & Information Center (MLIC) http://www.iuj.ac.jp/library/ The MLIC primarily serves the study and research needs of students, faculty and staff. The library holds about 100,000 books (80 % foreign), about 30,000 titles of full-text electronic journals, and a variety of databases to check world-class financial and macro data for various countries. It is open until midnight during the semester. PC rooms are open 24 hours and an E-Lab, designed for the e-business management program, is open until midnight. Dormitories By living together young people of different nationalities and with the different backgrounds can learn from each other's world views and gain awareness of critical issues while learning to work together. A borderless and independent environment is created in the dorms as a result of allocating rooms regardless of students' nationalities and gender. There are three dormitories which have about 300 single rooms and one married students' apartment which has 18 rooms. (Students live in on-campus dormitories in principle although some 2nd-year students and married students live in apartments near IUJ.) Sports Facilities and other Amenities A full-sized gymnasium and work-out room are open from 7 am to midnight, and tennis courts are available to use from morning to 10 pm (no reservations required). You can also enjoy BBQs, Jogging, walking, etc. on our beautiful, open campus. During the winter season, IUJ's location in the heart of Japan's Snow Country makes for a cross-country and down-hill skiing paradise. The GSO-EC organizes many events such as the International Festival, IUJ Olympics and a Ski day to enrich students' lives.
