Queensland.

Mervyn Moriarty who was a prominent figure in the art scene in Brisbane in
the 1960s - 80s. Moriarty had a major influence on the development of the
visual arts throughout the state, particularly through his teaching, and the
establishment of the Brisbane Institute of Arts and The Flying Arts School
(now Flying Arts Alliance).

Marvel at this significant collection of works on paper
compiled by UMI Arts in 2015 to celebrate 10 years of

QRAA the Exhibition:
Cream of the Crop

Brisbane exhibition of the 2015 Queensland Regional
The Queensland Regional Art Awards is our annual visual and media arts prize
for established and emerging artists living in regional and remote Queensland.
In recognition of our 45th Anniversary, this year the Awards will take a
different format, with artists receiving a blank palette on which to create their
2D or 3D works. The theme for 2016 is Colours of Queensland.
Entries are to be accompanied by an artist statement of 100-120 words
addressing the theme.
All participating artists will be eligible to win an award and the opportuntiy
to be selected by a guest curator for a touring exhibition, visiting regional
galleries around Queensland in 2017. The exhibition will also include a
Brisbane launch event.
Toast our cream of the crop at the official celebration and
Art Awards. Dubbed QRAA, it is the Flying Arts annual
art prize for established and emerging artists living in
regional and remote Queensland.

STANDARD MEMBERSHIP
Standard membership options are available for individuals, concession card
holders, non-commercial groups, and commercial groups and businesses.
Our standard membership year runs from 1 April to 31 March. Members joining
after 30 September each year receive a pro-rata rate.
ACCREDITED MEMBERSHIP
Accredited membership confers all benefits of standard membership and
provides coverage under the Flying Arts General Liability insurance package.
Accredited membership is designed for individual and sole trading artists
engaged in professional practice.
Our accredited membership can assist with:

covering your professional indemnity when giving advice
•
professionalising your practice
Accredited Membership and Insurance cover is offered on an annual basis from
1 October – 1 October each year. Members joining after October each year
receive a pro-rata rate.
