a Guide for Adult Learners
Begin with the end in mind –
your
career
Now’s an exciting time. You’ve made the decision to go back to school to complete your
college degree program and earn the credentials needed to help advance your career.
Begin your journey with the end in mind. Adding the right degree to your resumé can
help you launch a new career or advance to a new position with greater responsibility
and rewards. When you have what employers want, you can do the things you love
and, better yet, get paid for it.
DeVry University has been helping students become professionals since 1931.
Everything we offer – from our year-round academic calendar that enables you to
complete a four-year degree program in as few as three years with full-time year-round
enrollment, with both on-campus and online classes, to our professional development
resources and networking opportunities – is focused on getting graduates where
they want to go.
Read on to learn how you can join the ranks of more than 250,000 DeVry University
graduates since 1975 who have put their education to work for them.
Career-focused education, working for 80 years
To say DeVry University is passionate about careers is an understatement. From our
founding in 1931, we’ve been focused on delivering real-world career education.
Dr. Herman and Dr. Lee de Forest introduced the technique of “visual education” while
concentrating course offerings in emerging technologies and preparing students to meet
the changing needs of the marketplace. Their trailblazing approach paved the way for
DeVry University’s current experiential learning technique.
From our technical training origins, DeVry University has evolved into an accredited
university with five colleges of study, and its Keller Graduate School of Management.
We have worked closely with industry leaders to build market-driven degree programs.
This helps to ensure that graduates can be prepared to meet the challenges of today’s
global marketplace.

The DeVry University Difference
A market-driven approach to education
Since our inception, DeVry University’s approach to learning has helped to set us apart.
Our degree programs are career-focused. This means you can develop the teamwork,
problem-solving and communication skills needed to thrive in a variety of industries
and environments. We call it experiential education – and it’s designed to help you gain
the skills and experience you need.
From day one at DeVry University, you can be enrolled in courses that are in your
field of interest. Even your general education classes can be geared toward your career.
Your assignments can mirror what you could be doing in the real world, from lab work
that simulates today’s work environments, to Senior Projects that can give you the
opportunity to address actual business needs for real companies. So by the time you
graduate, you can have learned the theory and how to apply it in the workplace – because
you’ve been doing it all along.
