The Night Auditor/Security positions provide superior customer service and specialized services to the
evening/night shift function four nights per week at Coast Edmonton Plaza Hotel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Night Audit
 Provides customer service and handles administrative duties that are routine and straightforward, such
as the check-in and check-out of guests, handling guest concerns, assisting with the arrivals and
departures of groups and tours, and luggage storage and developing and analyzing statistical tracking
methodologies
 Follows established procedures and policies when completing tasks
 Prepares and ensures accurate billing, records and reconciliations
 Ensures that all audit and accounting procedures are completed in a timely manner during shift (i.e.
computer resets, credit card reconciliations, system back-ups)
 Ensures that audit work is in accordance with direction from Hotel Controller
 Ensures that credit procedures meet hotel standards and rate discrepancies are reported to Front
Office Manager
Security
 Responds to guest requests for extra or additional amenities or items
 Conducts patrols the property, including parkade, guest floors, back offices and function rooms
 Secure specific areas of the hotel to ensure the safety of Ambassador and guests, and complete
Security checklist nightly
 Responds to any noise complaint & possible trespassing in the property and dealt with accordingly
 Report any incidences in a timely manner to Night Manager and designated Managers
Night Audit/Security
 Maintains health and safety standards and complies with all regulations
 Operates within boundaries of authority and adheres to company policies and practices
 Demonstrates knowledge about local situations and activities (i.e., events, security concerns such as
thefts) and how they may impact guest services; informs others as appropriate
 Other duties as required
Qualifications & Skill Requirements:
 Secondary school diploma
 12 months of related experience preferred
 Intermediate level in the use of MS Office Suite, front office systems, budgeting and accounting
 Advanced communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
 Professional appearance and attitude
 Able to multi-task and has initiative
 Ability to work flexible hours – (overnight)
 Bondable
 Demonstrates the Coast Core Values at all times
 Clear understanding of all relevant operating policies and procedures
 Strong phone manner/etiquette, with previous experience in the use of a multi-line switchboard
 Some experience with conflict resolution an asset
