INTERSEGMENTAL GENERAL EDUCATION TRANSFER
CURRICULUM (IGETC)
Completion of all the requirements in the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum
(IGETC) will permit a student to transfer from a community college to a campus in either the California
State University or the University of California system with out the need, after transfer, to take
additional lower-division, general education courses to satisfy campus general education requirements.
D The course requirements for all areas must be completed before IGETC can be certified.
(Any exceptions can be discussed with a counselor.)

high school language. See below for approved Vista courses; or Completion of two years of high school course work in one
language other than English with a “C-” or better (verified by official high school transcript; or Satisfactory score on the
College Board Subject Test (formerly SAT II) in a language other than English (see counselor for required scores); or Score
of 3 or better on the College Board Advanced Placement Examination in a language other than English; or Score of 5 or
better on the International Baccalaureate Higher Level Examination in a language other than English; or Satisfactory
completion of a proficiency test administered by a community college, university or other college in a language other than
English; or Completion of two consecutive years of formal schooling at the sixth grade level or higher in an institution where
the language of instruction is not English (confirmed by appropriate documentation).
