Over the time we have developed two methodological approaches for developing applications:
Two different flavors, depending on the project characteristics
> Our “traditional” model, mainly based on RUP and CMMI practices, is generally used in turnkey, fixed priced contracts. An iterative/incremental lifecycle model is used.
> The other approach is mostly based in Agile Methods, in particular Scrum and Extreme
Programming, and is used in “team based” engagements. An iterative/incremental lifecycle is also used in these projects.

Dollars. Long tern engagements are projects with typically more than six months duration.

General conditions for long term rates
> Services are provided on a time and materials ("T&M") basis and customers shall pay Hexacta for time spent performing such services at the end of each calendar month based on a monthly retainer model.
> Holidays and reasonable sick days will be invoiced as working time. Regarding sick time, Hexacta will not invoice time off due to extraordinary circumstances (e.g. if somebody takes more than 2 days in a month; or if somebody takes 1 or 2 days every single months, in those cases discount days will be applied)
>
>
Regarding vacations of team members, Hexacta will try to cover up the vacations time off replacing these members during that period of time (whenever it makes sense to the project because of the learning curve time and because of knowledge transfer required). If resource is not replaced / covered up during time off, Hexacta will discount those days off.
About Christmas week: Hexacta is virtually closed between December 25th and January 1st.
> Rates include the infrastructure required for the adequate performance of the regular activities of software development.
They do not include travel expenses that will be billed separately.
> For each service engagement, Client and Hexacta will sign a “Statement of Work” (SOW) that should include a list of the staff profiles assigned, incorporation dates and length of the service period.
> These rates are valid until the end of 2014. They might be adjusted for the year 2015 (with a previous notice / agreement)
