Hotel Information
All teams will be required to stay at the Doubletree Hotel Biltmore as assigned by the Big
South Conference. The address of the hotel is 115 Hendersonville Road. The phone
number is 828-274-1800. The contact person is Alianna Drake.
Directions to the Hotel:
From I-40 West, take Exit 50 B and the hotel will be on the left at the first traffic light.
From I-40 East, take Exit 50 and the hotel will be on the left at the first traffic light.
From I-26, take exit 31A to I-40 East and proceed to Exit 50.
Awards Banquet Information
The 2008 Big South Conference Volleyball Awards Banquet will be held at the host hotel
Doubletree Biltmore on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. Each school will be allowed to have
24 people in their traveling party for the banquet. This is to include your President or
Chancellor, Faculty Athletic Representative and Athletics Director. Any additional
people wanting to come to the banquet will have to pay $25. To purchase additional
tickets to the banquet, please contact Ryan Riddle at 828-251-6904. There will be no
tickets sold at the door. You must contact Ryan by Monday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. if you plan
to purchase ticket to the banquet.
Head Coaches Meeting
The mandatory head coaches meeting will be held immediately following the awards
banquet on Thursday, Nov. 20 at the Doubletree Biltmore.

Will Call
The Will-Call window will open 60 minutes prior to the first match of the day. The WillCall window is located in the lobby of Justice Center. Photo ID will be required to pick
up tickets. Ticket patrons who have ordered tickets in advance and individuals not
involved with game operations will pick up their tickets here.
Team Pass Lists/Complimentary Tickets
No complimentary tickets will be provided for a team pass list. If you would like to
provide complimentary tickets to your team’s parents or guests, those tickets must be
purchased by the participating institution in advance and a pass list must be provided to
the UNC Asheville Athletics Ticket Office, no later than 10 a.m. on Nov. 21, 2008. For

The training room will be open one hour prior to the start of practice and/or the match
and will close 30 minutes after the conclusion of practice or match. The training room is
located on the ground level of Justice Center, just off the main floor.

from the host institution, with the exception of the host institution which, due to NCAA
regulations, is not permitted to miss class time for practice.

As you cross the river, move into the left-hand lane.
Take US 19-23 north.
Proceed approximately 1 mile to UNC Asheville exit.

Proceed approximately 1/3 mile to second left-hand turn for the main entrance road to
UNC Asheville campus.
Team Entrance
Players, coaches, and team personnel will enter at the Main Athletic Offices, located at
the top of the hill at Justice Center. Someone from UNC Asheville Athletics will be there
to greet you and take you to your locker room. Your bus will then be directed where to
park. This will also be the spot where teams will be picked up following their match.
Laundry
The Doubletree Biltmore has agreed to do laundry for any of the teams in the tournament
for a small fee. Please contact Alianna Drake at the Doubletree for this request.
Credentials
The UNC Asheville Athletics Communications Office will print and distribute VIP,
Coach, Participant and Media Credentials. The VIP Coach and Media credentials will
grant individuals access to the floor area, press conference and hospitality rooms.
Participant credentials will be distributed to each member of the travel party at the
assigned practice time on Thursday, November 20, 2008. The Coach credentials will also
be distributed during the Thursday practice. VIP credentials will be mailed to the Director
of Athletics of each institution at least one week prior to the tournament. Media
credentials will be available for pick-up at Will-Call in the lobby of Justice Center. If any
other media members will be traveling with the team and would like to have his or her
credential delivered at Thursday’s practice, please contact Everett Hutto at 828-251-6931
or ehutto@unca.edu. For any other credential questions or concerns, please contact Mike
Gore (828-251-6923) or Everett Hutto.
Locker Rooms
Locker Rooms will be located on both the ground level and first floor of Justice Center.
Teams will receive their locker room assignments the week of the Big South Conference
Championship.
Parking Information
There will be reserved parking for Big South Conference Officials, VIP’s and UNC
Asheville Athletic Officials in two spots. One will be just above Justice Center near the
Athletic Department Entrance and the second will be on the side of Justice Center nearest
the Health and Fitness Center. Anyone parked in those spots must have a parking pass
and that will begin on Nov. 20 and continue through Nov. 23.
Parking lots for spectators will be located across from the Justice Center Entrance. There
are three different lots across from the Justice Center Entrance.
Video-Streaming
Each match of the 2008 Big South Conference Volleyball Championship will be videostreamed by the UNC Asheville Athletic Communications Office. There will be a link on
the Big South’s web-site at www.bigsouthsports.com and on the UNC Asheville’s
Athletic Department web-site at www.uncabulldogs.com. In addition, the
Communication Office will create a Big South Championship Web-site that will have all
the information on the championship.
Spirit Groups
Any spirit group such as cheerleaders, dance team or pep band must notify Mike Gore at
UNC Asheville by Nov. 10 if they are coming. They will be assigned an area to support
their team during their match.
Hospitality Room
A VIP, Coach and Media hospitality room will be open one hour prior to each match and
will remain open through the conclusion of the contest. The hospitality room will be
located in the Dance Studio on the ground floor of Justice Center. It will have a steady
supply of beverages and snacks throughout the tournament and meals will be served
intermittently.

Team Ambassadors
In order to make your stay in Asheville go as smoothly as possible, the UNC Asheville
Athletics Department has teamed up with members of the community to serve as Team
Ambassadors. These Team Ambassadors will be at your practices and your matches and
are here to help you in any way possible during your stay in Asheville. Please feel free to
call on them if you have any questions or any needs. You will be assigned your Team
Ambassador the week of the tournament. They will contact a team representative prior to
your team arriving in Asheville.
