The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education TUITION FEE BURSARY 2012 INFORMATION AND GUIDELINES What is a Chang School Tuition Fee Bursary ? The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education Tuition Fee Bursary is a non-repayable tuition waiver given on the basis of financial need and on the student's demonstrated academic objectives and/or performance. Bursaries are targeted to students who would be unable to continue their studies without such financial aid. Chang School students may apply each term for this bursary. What is the value of a Chang School Tuition Fee Bursary? Chang School Tuition Fee Bursaries vary in value up to the full tuition fee of one course depending on the student’s level of need and available funding to a maximum amount of $600.00. Who is eligible to apply? To be eligible to apply for a Chang School Tuition Fee Bursary you must meet the following criteria: New students should: indicate on the application form that you are new to The Chang School. Returning Chang School students should: have maintained a minimum 2.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) or a C average in your studies to date (please provide proof of attaining 2.0 GPA) All bursary applicants must: Have been a resident of Ontario for at least one (1) year. Demonstrate financial need and provide proof of income upon submission of the application for each member of your family unit (as described in part 3 of the application). Describe how this bursary would impact your academic/career plan (as described in part 4 of the application). Who is NOT eligible to apply? You are not eligible to apply if you are: X A full-time student or a part-time degree student. Note: If you are in this category please apply for the CESAR Tuition Fee Bursary or contact the Ryerson Student Financial Assistance office. X On academic probation or suspension at the time of application. X Studying on an international student visa. X Currently holding outstanding debts to Ryerson University. X A resident of Ontario for less than one (1) year. X A refugee claimant. How are the recipients chosen and the bursaries distributed? The Chang School Bursary Selection Committee will evaluate all eligible applications based on the application criteria. If chosen to receive a bursary, students will be notified by the committee, by email or mail. All applicants will be mailed the results approximately one to three weeks after the deadlines below. Following notification, your Ryerson University course account will be credited with the bursary amount. Bursaries are not cash; rather they are a Ryerson tuition credit. They are valid towards tuition fees only. All associated course costs (e.g., textbooks, supplies, and materials) are the financial responsibility of the student. Bursaries are non-refundable and must be used within a specified timeframe towards an eligible course. NOTICE to all students applying for the Chang School Tuition Fee Bursary: All fees must be paid in full at time of enrollment. If you are successful in your application for a bursary/award and have already registered for your course, you will receive a refund for the amount of the tuition. How do I apply? The Chang School Tuition Fee Bursary application forms are available from The Chang School office, Heaslip House, 297 Victoria Street. Completed application forms must be received at The Chang School office, Heaslip House, 297 Victoria Street by 4:00pm on the following deadlines. If there is clear evidence that a student has misrepresented his/her financial circumstances, bursary assistance will be refused or withdrawn. The G.
