Greetings of peace!
The University of the Philippines Special Education Council (UPSEC) is a college-based and a university wide organization that promotes the ideals of Special Education and promotes awareness of the Persons with Disability (PWD) in the college, university, and the greater public. In 2005, UPSEC was chosen as a finalist in NYC Ten Accomplished Y{luth Organization Award. Through the years, UPSEC has been working towards establishing an organization that shall exemplify genuine concern for children in general and special learners in particular. UPSEC commits itself to forming a commUnity that shall foster equality by providing opportunities to all individuals. In line with these goals, the organization is hosting one of its major events, CanRock. CanRock is a recital that highlights the different capabilities of children with special needs through short performances like singing. dancing. acting. and playing musical instruments. This event primarily aims to raise awareness of the greater public regarding children with special needs, and the field of special education. For this year, it will revolve around the theme ftCanRock 2015: Kapit-Bisigl" This year, we aim to showcase Filipino culture and values in the performances of children, with special needs. Alongside with this, the event will be a thanksgiving and a great opportunity for our organization, as we celebrate our 15th anniversary this year. CanRock will be held on 28 February 2015, Saturday at 2:0Opm­
S:30pm. The venue, however, is to be announced. We humbly seek your support by endorSing this activity to the public and private schools with in Metro Manila and neighboring provinces. This event would be a good opportunity to show that you are one with us In our vision of upholding the ideals of Special Education and of children in general Your support in this endeavor will definitely go "a long way and it shall ensure the attainment of our goals.
