The Abbey takes its name from Ambrogio, the town patron saint. It was built from 379 AC until IX Century. Only in this way, critical thinking can be promoted in students… but what is more important - given the special nature of our university - is that only in this way the spirit of research can be implemented”. PSYCHOLOGY AT UCSC: A BRIEF HISTORY 1924: The Laboratory of Psychology and Biology was founded by Father Agostino Gemelli. That was the beginning of the experimental psychology research in Italy and Europe. Some of the instruments used by the founder are still preserved at the Post-graduate School of Psychology “Agostino Gemelli” (setted in Via Nirone).
