For several years now Katherine Strause has been working from found photographs.
These images are chosen because they reveal something about the sitter that that reverberates with the artist, something universal and lasting.
"When I look into the eyes of these lost sitters I see the same pride, vanity and terror that I feel. I can also see their hopes and gratitude and their love of life."
Katherine Strause exhibits nationally and is currently the Art Department Interim Chair at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She holds a Master of Fine
Arts from Southern Illinois University.

Having always admired the expressionists, Grayson Harper shows the influences of painters like Jack Levine, Raphael Soyer, the great Russian artist Kathe Kollwitz, and
Edward Hopper in his work.
Another influence is the theatre: "When I'm painting, I sometimes feel like a "director," arranging the elements on a stage." Harper develops his paintings as he works, letting the artwork itself tell him how to proceed with creating the relationships between the characters.
Focus Gallery Exhibitions are a presentation of the Exhibition Advisory Panel of the FWCAC and the Arts
Council of Fort Worth &Tarrant County.

For the past several years I have been working on paintings that have to do with family and the conservation of the remaining natural places left to us. Both are evidence of a greater spiritual force we can connect with to give us strength and direction. In painting my experiences in the evidence, it is my hope that others would be encouraged and touched by the same spirit I have witnessed. Hopefully some will
be moved to experience and conserve the evidence as well. - TAC Featured Artist
