Every time Mushu gave her advice,

army camp and when Captain Shang
arrived it was in chaos.
advised Mulan to, “Walk like a
man. Legs apart,” and “Punch guys in
the arm. Call them names and spit a
lot.”

ong ago in China, a tiny dragon name
Mushu was assigned to protect a young
woman named Mulan by her ancestors.
She had dressed as a man to take her father’s
place in the war against the Huns.
As for Mushu, the little dragon got back
his guardianship. “Send out for eggrolls!”
he shouted to the happy ancestors.

Shang was a good
leader, and Mulan
worked hard to
win his respect.
“My name is ...uh...Ping,” Mulan told
Shang, trying to sound like a man.
Shang did not like troublemakers.
M
ulan was happy to return home. She
knew that she was special enough
as herself. She gave the sword given to
her by the Emperor to her father, and he
welcomed her back.
Shang followed her, she was much more
than a good soldier to him now; he was in
love with her. Mulan’s heart was full.

But not even her best friends, ChienPo, Ling and Yao, knew that “Ping” was
a woman.
All of the soldiers liked Ping and were
inspired by her actions.
Shan Yu was blasted into
S
hang led his troop to join the Imperial Army.
Sadly, they saw that the army and the village
had been attacked. Soon, the Huns returned.
Mulan, with Mushu’s help, caused an avalanche
that buried the Hun army.

They lead Shan Yu to the top of
the palace and Mushu shot a
rocket toward him.
They rescued the emperor, but
Shan Yu, the Hun leader, attacked
Shang. To protect him, Mulan and
Mushu hatched a plan.
Wounded in battle, Mulan was
still able to climb on her horse
and pull Shang from the snow.
As Shang thanked Mulan with
admiration, he said, “From now
on you have my trust.”
Chien-Po, Ling, and Yao couldn’t break
down the palace door.
“I have an idea!” Mulan called.
They let Mulan dress them as a women and
were able to get close enough to attack
the Huns. Shang soon followed them.

uddenly Mulan saw that a few of the
Mulan’s smile soon disappeared,
as her wound was treated,
everyone learned the truth, that
“Ping” was really a woman,
Mulan, in disguise.
S
adly, Mulan watched the troops
march away. Mulan told Mushu: “I
just wanted to do things right, so that
when I looked in the mirror I would see
someone worthwhile. But now I see
nothing.”
“You risked your life to help people
you love. I risked your life to help
myself,” he told her. Mulan hugged
the little dragon.
Mushu said that he had set out to make
Mulan a hero so that he would get back
his position as a Guardian Spirit.
