PROGRESSIVE NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING

Team members are invited to participate in three

45-minute free personal nutrition advice and counseling sessions annually. Throughout an eightweek period, participants will meet with a licensed registered dietitian who will:

• Discuss and help you set health, nutrition and weight goals

• Provide ongoing support and suggestions to help keep you on track

• Help you learn how to improve cholesterol levels, control blood pressure or manage diabetes throughout your diet

Call 321.8HEALTH (321.843.2584) for more information or to schedule your first appointment.

R-AskRD@orlandohealth.com

Orlando Health’s team of clinical dietitians has developed the R-AskRD@orlandohealth.com email box for team members. Team members can use this resource to send nutrition questions to our dietitians for guidance. Nutrition experts will not be able to offer individual caloric prescriptions or specific diet instructions, but team members are invited to email the team those everyday nagging questions that cloud our minds when trying to make better food choices.

SNIFFLES, OUCHES AND SNEEZES

Sniffles, Ouches and Sneezes (S.O.S.) is a service for

Orlando Health team members who need temporary care on a day-to-day basis for their children suffering from mild, non-acute illnesses, or care for children recuperating from accidents or surgery. Children ages

12 weeks (providing the first immunization has been received) through 11 years may be admitted. Proof of immunization is required. A parent should call ahead of time to determine if the child is eligible for S.O.S.

Call the center directly from 6:00 am to 7:30 pm at

407.843.7671 for our location at 74 Bonnie Loch Court.

Parents may leave a voicemail 24 hours a day, and the call will be returned by an S.O.S. childcare provider.

Reservations are required; we do not accept walk-ins.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP)

When team members need help with private concerns, they can turn to the EAP for professional, shortterm counseling, and rest assured that their privacy is maintained. Every counselor at the EAP is licensed by the state of Florida and follows the legal and ethical statutes regarding confidentiality, so the corporation is never informed about who uses this program. This service is free to each team member and to his or her immediate family.

When a referral is needed for another professional or to a community resource, the EAP can help with this as well.

The EAP offices are located at 44 Lake Beauty Dr., across from the Ronald McDonald House. Appointments may be made by calling 407.237.6352 or 800.231.7866.

HEALTHY CHOICE FOOD OPTIONS AND

HU MEAL DEAL

Orlando Health hospital cafeterias offer discounted healthy food choices daily to all Orlando Health team members.

Healthier food options are achieved by modifying recipes and by adding low sodium and vegetarian options. Healthy consumer behavior is also encouraged by implementing price point incentives for healthy choices. Team members are offered a reduced price at the salad bar and on bottled water. In addition, all Orlando Health cafeterias offer a “Hu

Plate Special,” a healthy meal deal for under $4. Colored serving utensils (green, yellow and red) at the salad bars also help team members distinguish between the healthiest

(green) to the least healthy (red) food choices.
