• Collect 15 ml freshly voided urine specimen;
• Label the container with patient’s name, hospital #, and room
#. Document the date and time of collection on the request
form and/or the container;
• Send STAT specimens to the lab immediately.
• Refrigerate specimens that cannot be delivered within 1 hour.
• See Clean Catch Urine Collection Procedure for
instructions.
