Welcome to the Office of
Instructional Technology
The Office of Instructional Technology provides support and training
in the use of web-based instructional tools including the Moodle
learning management system, the Adobe Connect web conferencing
classroom, the Second Life virtual campus, and the iTunes U course
content platform. In addition, we support faculty in the use of secure
testing via Proctor U. For a full list of instructional technologies, click
the Instructional Tools link.
The University of New Orleans uses Moodlerooms' Joule platform, a
hosted, online learning solution based on an open-source Moodle
core, as its central course delivery platform. Instructors of online,
hybrid and classroom-based courses configure their Moodle course
shells to deliver content including syllabi, policies and information,
lectures, assignments, discussions, quizzes and exams, chats, and
grades.

Students participate by receiving lecture content in various
formats, submitting assignments, communicating with their
instructors and classmates, and accessing grades.
Users will find in the menu at left answers to frequently asked
questions; links to support videos, tutorials and user manuals; and
UNO's Moodle log-in page. Faculty and staff can arrange for training
in course development and design, and in basic and advanced
Moodle use, by phone at 504-280-5512, or via email at
moodle@uno.edu. Tech support and troubleshooting are available
by the same means. Small-group training sessions are scheduled
several times each semester and are listed on the Training page.
