The Cascade Stereoscopic Club is your primary destination as you journey to learn how the
vision of your realities can be preserved beyond your lifetime by the media of stereoscopic art.
The Cascade Stereoscopic Club (CSC) centers on the world of stereography. The former 3D
Center of Art & Photography was the result of the pioneering dreams of members of the Cascade
Stereoscopic Club. CSC is dedicated to presenting and preserving 3-dimensional images
through monthly meetings, mentoring, sharing your art, an online discussion group, and public
outreach.
The educational agenda of CSC is to teach anyone interested how to capture the reality of
what we see in those original three dimensions. The most popular methods involve STEREO
PHOTOGRAPHY. By making an image of the same scene from two slightly different positions at
the same time, a stereoscopic photograph is created. By viewing the two images in such a way
that the left image is presented only to the left eye, and the right image to the right eye, the image
is seen in true stereoscopic 3D. Your brain does it and the resulting image has all the cues of a
flat photograph, plus the depth that flat images do not have. Observers of 3D images feel as if
they stepped into the actual scene where the photograph was taken. 3D images are usually
made with a two lens camera, whether it be still images or movies. Two identical cameras can
be used together with synchronized shutters as is evidenced by the 3D digital images being
made today. By shifting a single camera between the left and right shot, excellent still life images
can be made. 3D images can be viewed by various means of projection, with hand-held viewers,
and as digital displays on your personal computer. The Cascade Stereoscopic Club offers many
venues which will get you started fulfilling your 3D imagination.

CSC was the first photography club in the world to be
approved by PSA to conduct stereoscopic competitions
and exhibitions of digital imagery via the Internet! Visit

exhibition in which anyone may submit stereoscopic
