Alicia Ortega Named Marketing and Business Development Intern at Keres
Consulting, Inc.
Second annual summer internship program at Native American-owned company mentors UNM
student, Pueblo member
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – July 8, 2011 – Keres Consulting, Inc., a Native American-owned general
management consulting firm headquartered in Albuquerque, has hired University of New Mexico
Anderson School of Management graduate student Alicia Ortega for its summer internship program. Ms.
Ortega, who is from the Pueblos of Santa Clara and Pojoaque, will support the company in a part-time,
paid internship role throughout the summer of 2011.
The Keres internship program is designed to provide exposure to marketing strategies in the
federal and tribal services sector. Ms. Ortega will assist the company with marketing and new
business initiatives, which include training opportunities in corporate capability statement and
proposal development, social media involvement, website redesign and corporate
communication.

Administration, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and General Services Administration. Ms.
Ortega’s role as Marketing & Business Development Intern will support marketing and proposal
development to agencies such as these, as well as tribal governments.
Ms. Ortega is pursuing a Master of Business Administration with concentrations in Marketing and
Management of Technology from UNM. She obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration
with a concentration in Organizational Management and Entrepreneurial Studies from UNM in
2010. She is the outgoing president of the American Indian Business Association and has
completed previous internships at Argonne National Laboratory and the NASA Glenn Research
Center.
