Business Development Intern Description Job Title: Business Development Intern Compensation: Non-­‐Paid, Stipend Department: Programs Position Type: 15-­‐20 hrs/week Reports To: Director of Programs Revision Date: February 6, 2015 Company Overview IT’S TIME TEXAS is an Austin-­‐based 501(c)3 not-­‐for-­‐profit, cause-­‐based organization that is dedicated to making healthy the norm in the Lone Star State. Our mission is to empower people to lead healthier lives and build healthier communities. Position Overview The Business Development Intern will work closely with the Director of Programs and Programs Team to enhance the Choose Healthier Program by building relationships with local businesses and organizations in the Austin area. The Business Development Intern will be responsible for a number of projects that vary in timeframe, scale, and orientation. The purpose of these projects is not only to help improve IT’S TIME TEXAS business initiatives, but also to provide valuable knowledge and experience to the intern’s education and career aspirations. Key Responsibilities Support Choose Healthier Programming: • Choose Healthier Deals (CHD): The CHD allows members to receive discounts and deals on healthy products and services at select businesses. • Choose Healthier App (App): This App is designed to empower people to lead healthier lives and build healthier communities by presenting them with hyper-­‐localized health and fitness opportunities. Some examples include: group classes, leagues, healthy restaurants, and CHDs. Conduct Market Research Build and foster relationships with businesses and organizations Adding opportunities and providers to custom content management system Assist in the creation and implementation of sales pitches and marketing techniques Support the IT’S TIME TEXAS initiatives including research and recruitment through calls, e-­‐mails, and presence at health fairs and conferences, and face-­‐to-­‐face meetings ● ● ● ● ● Critical Skills/Abilities ● ● ● ● ● Strong communication skills: verbal and written Detail-­‐oriented: can adapt to a fast-­‐paced, rapidly changing work environment Self-­‐motivated: Able to work under minimal supervision Interest in business development, marketing, sales, and outreach Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, or similar applications Minimum Requirements ● Enrolled in Bachelors or Master’s program with a min. 3.0 GPA, Business related Major preferred ● Mandatory attendance of New Intern Orientation – TBD date For interested candidates, please send resume and cover letter to Choose Healthier Coordinator, Jenna Beyer, Jenna.beyer@itstimetexas.org
