Get Connected Weekend
A Matriculation Ceremony
meeting will be held on Wednesday (08/27) in the Auditorium.
ALL NEW STUDENTS are
required to attend.
This weekend, students will participate in the first of this year’s
three required weekends. The theme of this weekend is “Get Connected” and faculty and staff are offering a variety of workshops
to allow students to connect with other students and staff who
share their interests. Workshop assignments will be delivered to
students’ mailboxes today.

diverse cultural heritage? Attend
an interest meeting for LSMSA’s
Multicultural Advisory Council on Thursday (08/28) at 6 pm
in the HSB Boardroom.

To kick off the weekend, students will show their skills tonight at
Eagle Antics, as they compete to win points for their halls. Students should sit with their brother/sister hall teams (listed on the
calendar) in the auditorium and each team will be asked to send
players to the stage to compete in various activities. The winning
team will get a week off of room inspection and the top two teams
will compete in a final round to earn extra money for their hall.
Between activities, four students will try-out to serve as the
LSMSA mascot, Ace the Eagle!

Work Service Reminder
Your work service schedule for the fall semester should be set by
the end of the day today (Fri., 08/22). The Student Development
Center has scheduling grids that you can use to determine a
schedule that meets your needs as well as your supervisor’s.
It's important that you make a schedule that you'll keep for the
remainder of the semester. Frequent changes are inconvenient to
your supervisor and may negatively impact other student workers. Your co-workers, for instance, may need to do extra work to
compensate for your absences.
For work service questions or assistance with locating your supervisor, contact Saul Broussard (sbroussard@lsmsa.edu) in the
Student Development Center.
