COMPREHENSIVE SYSTEMS SUPPORT STARTS HERE. • In-house repairs and subcontractor management • Fully integrated supply chain with over 100 service providers and Inventory Control Points located at the two CF-18 Main Operating Bases • Integrated operational support software tracks all government-owned equipment location, value and configuration • Configuration and full life-cycle management for all Avionics Systems (AVS) and Support Equipment (SE) • Proactive obsolescence management • Complete in-house engineering support program AN INTEGRATED APPROACH. Harris Calgary is the sole-source service provider to the Canadian Forces (CF) for all Avionics Systems (AVS) and associated Support Equipment (SE) for the CF-18 Fighter aircraft. The successful support of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) — for both station and test program sets — is a challenge that Harris delivers on, every day. Our main strength is our team approach. Engineering support services, operations and maintenance, logistics support, and supply chain are all housed under one roof and function as an integrated team. Our unique organization can quickly come together to analyze the customer requirement, discuss options, and select, design and develop the most cost-effective solution. harris.com HARRIS ATE SUPPORT HIGHLIGHTS AVIONICS TEST SET Harris’ Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) is the primary test capability used both in garrison and when deployed. The Harris Portable Adaptive Test Set (PATS) is capable of testing 35 AVS aircraft systems when deployed. • ATE repair laboratory supporting six different suites of ATE capable of calibration and component level repair of commercial test equipment contained therein, whether current or obsolete, from multiple original equipment managers inclusive of: Harris and the U.S. Navy Depots are the last locations in the world utilizing the Avionics Test Set (ATS), which was once a carrier-based tester used around the world repairing avionics systems. Harris is addressing issues with obsolescence by completing a re-host of the remaining test capability on the ATS to the Consolidated Automated Support System (CASS) for both the Canadian Forces and the U.S. Navy Depots. Agilent, HP, Fluke, GiGaTronics, Ascor, Tektronics, Rohde and Schwarz, Inritsu • Engineering support services include configuration management and proactive obsolescence management for all AVS and SE • Software development and in-service support for fielded ATE and operational test program sets (OTPS) • Design of new OTPS and re-host of test capability between ATE platforms • Annual user advisory group meetings to establish customer priorities for upgrade and support of the ATE and OTPS • Extensive capability on Avionics Test Set (ATS), Hybrid Test System (HTS), Radar Test Set (RTS), Portable Adaptive Test Set (PATS), Consolidated Automated Support System (CASS), and Radio Frequency Automated Maintenance Support System (RF/ATMSS) product lines CONSOLIDATED AUTOMATED SUPPORT SYSTEM Harris’ in-house engineering support services team designs and builds Consolidated Automated Support System (CASS) test program sets that fully meet the U.S. Navy standards and specifications. The team is designing and developing two operational test program sets (OTPS) and the essential hardware, software and documentation to remove the obsolete ATS Station from service in Canada and at the U.S. Navy Depots in North Island and Jacksonville. Additionally, Harris expects to provide test capability on the CASS for international F/A-18 operators. HYBRID TEST SYSTEM Harris utilizes the Hybrid Test System (HTS) to test and repair shop replaceable assemblies (SRAs) from failed F/A-18 avionics systems; over 500 test program sets (TPS) are currently in use. In addition, Harris’ in-house engineering support team works closely with the U.S. Navy Fleet Support Team (FST) at North Island. Harris has provided over 600 software and hardware problem solutions to the FST, the majority being provided to HTS operators globally. Harris has also upgraded the HTS baseline software on behalf of the Canadian Forces (CF). This upgrade has recently been released to the global community to ensure commonality across HTS platforms. Through its work with the international community on the Legacy ATE Support Working Group, Harris plans to provide solutions to HTS support issues until global retirement of the F/A-18 fleet — currently anticipated to be around 2035. PORTABLE ADAPTIVE TEST SET Harris upgraded the Portable Adaptive Test Set (PATS) to support the new avionics systems in the Canadian CF-18 fighter aircraft. Specifically, the PATS supports the new radar, armament control processor, pylon, wingtip, fuselage and gun encoder/ decoders, control system convertor and mission computer. Keeping test capability relevant and functional is a major capability of the Harris engineering support services team. When the CF was faced with major obsolescence of the system, Harris replaced the aging computer system and specific commercial test equipment. Harris’ engineering support services team successfully completed hardware replacement and station software upgrade on time and on budget — ensuring supportability for electronic warfare testing through fleet retirement. harris.com
