Greek or Latin root word Superhero!
You are responsible for learning all of the words on the Greek and Latin root word list. In addition, you
will be responsible for creating a superhero out of one of the Greek or Latin roots.
Your word is:______________________________________
Think about that word and create a superhero to fit the definition. You’re superhero can be male or
female, and the root word must be in the superhero’s name. For example, Hydroman can shoot water out
of his fingertips. You will also need to write a detailed paragraph about your superhero. In your
paragraph, you need to include a definition of the root word, a description of who your superhero is, what
traits make him/her special—according to the definition, and what are his/her strengths and weaknesses.
You also need to include three words that contain the root.
The next thing you need to do is create an illustration of your superhero. Tie your definition into the
drawing. Make sure his identity can be clearly identified by the picture.
Your superhero’s name, description, and illustration should all be on a piece of white or lightly colored
paper of at least 8 ½ by 11 inches (the size of copy paper). Notebook paper will not be accepted for this
assignment.
It should be colorful, neat, legible, and creative. The rubric is on the back.
