EKTA PURASKAR in the year 2000 for outstanding contribution to maintain communal harmony in
the state.

:The famous pilgrimage of Tripura UNAKOTI – a place of interest
for privileged experts or scholars of rock murals and a happy abode of divergent cultural and religious
groups.This great pilgrimage almost unnoticed so long, has been brought up to the limelight by the
patronage of Sri Birajit Sinha, the then Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development Department,
Tripura. He played a vital role to develop Unakoti and to make the Ashokashtami mela a state
Government sponsored programme.
He hold the post of President, Block Youth Congress 1972-75. President, District Youth
Congress 1975, President, Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress 1978-1990, Founder Member of INTCU,
Tripura State Unit 1979, Secretary, Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee in 1981, Cabinet Minister of

actual youth problems- mainly creative of harmonically cultural
sphere- unitedly fight against the language struggle- thought for upliftment of Upajati Socio-Development cultural programme and tried
for giving a complete shape of it. The ultimate goal is to build up a
nation irrespective of any caste or creed. But his struggle for all is
not ended.
