Notification
In order to promote research and development (R & D) activities in Tripura Institute of
Technology, Narsingarh, Tripura(W) following provisions have been approved by the BOG under
TEQIP-II project.
1) Faculty members may be invited to submit research project proposal in AICTE Research
Promotion Scheme (RPS) / UGC Minor format for financial grant upto Rs. 2.00Lakh per
proposal.
2) Department wise research committee may be constituted with the following composition for
five engineering departments of TIT, Narsingarh to scrutinize and recommend the proposals.
a) One Faculty at the level of Professor with relevant branch of engineering from a
University / Institute as Chairman.
b) One Faculty at the level of Professor / Associate Professor with relevant branch of
engineering from a University / Institute as Member.
c) Head of the Department of the concerned department of TIT, Narsingarh as the
Convener.
HOD of concerned department will propose the name of Chairman and Member for his
departmental research screening committee. Periodical progress report has to be submitted
by the concerned faculty member which will be reviewed by the research committee.
3) For Science and Humanities Department the research committee may comprise of the
following to scrutinize and recommend the proposals:
a) One Faculty at the level of Professor with relevant branch of Science / Humanities from a
University / Institute as Chairman.
b) One Faculty at the level of Professor / Associate Professor with relevant branch of
Science / Humanities from a University / Institute as Member.
c) Head of the Department of the Science and Humanities Department of TIT, Narsingarh as
the Convener.
HOD of Science and Humanities Department will propose the name of Chairmen and
Members for each subject separately in his departmental research screening committees.
Periodical progress report has to be submitted by the concerned faculty member which will
be reviewed by the research committee.
4) Final year and pre-final year students of degree engineering branches of TIT, Narsingarh may
be invited to submit research proposal through their project guide for financial assistance
upto Rs. 25,000/- per project proposal. A committee comprising of the following faculty
members for each department may constituted to scrutinize and recommend such proposals:
a) Head of the Department of the concerned department of TIT, Narsingarh as the
Chairman.
b) Two faculty members of the concerned department one as member and the other as
convener.
HOD of concerned department will propose the name of Member and Convener for his
departmental student research committee. The committee will monitor the progress in the
project work periodically. Dr. Jayanta Chakraborty, Assistant Professor and HOD, Science &
Humanities Department may be requested to prepare a format for the student project
proposal at an early date within 10th December, 2013.
In this connection, HODs are hereby requested to propose the research committees for their
respective departments / subjects at an early date within 30 th November, 2013.
Faculty and student research proposals in appropriate format may be submitted to the
concerned HODs latest by 31st December, 2013.
