To protect confidential healthcare data and comply with federal regulations, mail cannot be automatically forwarded from your Exchange email accounts to other Emory or non-Emory email accounts. Students will have two options for checking their Exchange email. 1. Mac and Windows users running supported web browsers may go to owa.emory.edu, login with your email @emory user name (NetID) and password to have full access to your email, directory, and calendar. 2. Third party email applications will not be supported. 8 Smart Device Security Policy ** SOM Students will not have access or support for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES). SOMITS will only provide configuration support via BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS). The security safeguards required by the smart device security policy will be enforced as a condition of access for any smart devices that connect to Emory Exchange to check email and calendar items. If you do not check Emory Exchange email on your device the policy will not be applied to it. I f you check your Emory email on your smart device, the only visible change will be that a four digit PIN will be required to unlock your device after a period of no more than 15 minutes of inactivity. When the policy is applied to your device, you will be prompted to configure this PIN if you have not configured one already. If your device is not already encrypted, it will be encrypted after you create your PIN.
