T E T R A D ATA S H E E T ACCESSORIES ACCESSORIES MOBILE Sepura’s 3900 series are rugged, reliable and highly flexible mobile radios. A wide range of complementary accessories make these mobiles suitable for a variety of different uses and applications. The products outlined on this datasheet represent a subset of the full range that is available. Going further in critical communications T E T R A D ATA S H E E T CONTROL SEPURA COLOUR CONSOLE (SCC) The SCC, which is also available in an IP67 variant, delivers an enhanced audio and visual experience to the user. A large, high resolution colour display presents a rich user interface with three sizes of text. The inclusion of context keys and a missed event LED match the enhanced user interface available on the Sepura STP8000 series handportable radios. Two accessories can connect to the rear of the SCC and a third can connect on the front using the Vehicle Accessory Connector (VAC). Audio steering automatically presents the audio to the currently active accessory. Positioned on the front of the SCC, the VAC provides straight-forward accessory installation even whilst the unit is powered on (hot swappable). The VAC can also be used for radio configuration via Radio Manager 2. HANDSET BASED CONSOLE (HBC) The HBC combines the functionality of the console and traditional telephone handset in a space saving, compact form factor. The HBC allows complete control of the radio and supports full duplex and half duplex operation. Designed with an identical layout to Sepura hand-portable radios, the HBC supports the full Sepura user interface, is easy to use and requires minimal training. Voice calls can either be kept ‘private’ by going off hook and operating as a telephone or be ‘all informed’ by using the hands-free kit and the vehicle loudspeaker. The HBC uses an AMPS compliant cradle, so it can be fitted to commercially available brackets. VIRTUAL CONSOLE The Virtual Console is a software application that gives the user full control of the radio from a Windows© based PC. In a vehicle, the virtual console can be installed onto an Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) for a space efficient solution. In an office, the virtual console can be used to control multiple radios from a single PC or to control a remote radio over a LAN/WAN connection. Alternative ‘skins’ give a choice of user interface; an accurate representation of the standard console is available or a ‘skin’ can be configured to give an alternative presentation with additional buttons. APPLICATIONS INTERFACE UNIT (AIU) The AIU is a compact unit that offers audio, PEI and digital I/O access and can replace a console when the screen and keypad are not required. The AIU is connected to the transceiver using the same cable types as the console. The AIU is used when: a) there is no console but audio input and output are required. b) t here is only one console and more than three audio accessories are required. The AIU performs all the functions of the console but has no user interface. Where there is a data only requirement, neither AIU nor console are needed. ACCESSORIES AUDIO ACCESSORIES VAC SPEAKER MICROPHONE Terminated with the VAC connector, the speaker microphone is fitted to the front of the SCC facilitating easy removal. An integrated loudspeaker simplifies radio installation by removing the need for a separately located loudspeaker. The speaker microphone is a half duplex accessory and is supplied with a mounting bracket with magnetic off-hook detection. FIST MICROPHONE A half duplex accessory incorporating a microphone, large Press-To-Talk (PTT) button and a configurable soft key (e.g. call clear). The fist microphone, which is also available in two IP67 variants (marine and colour console), is supplied with a hooking bracket, allowing flexible installation within a vehicle and can be connected to either an SCC or an AIU. HANDSET A duplex accessory incorporating an earpiece, microphone and Press-To-Talk (PTT) button to allow calls to be made in private. It is supplied with its own hooking bracket for flexible installation within a vehicle and can be connected to either an SCC or an AIU. VAC SPEAKER HANDSET A duplex accessory incorporating an earpiece, microphone, Press-To-Talk (PTT) button and speaker to allow private and public calls. It is supplied with its own hooking bracket for flexible installation within a vehicle and is only connected via the VAC connector on an SCC. HANDS-FREE KIT Hands-free operation can be used in duplex or half duplex mode. Advanced echo cancelling circuitry ensures excellent audio performance when operating in duplex mode. Suitable fixings for most vehicle installations are included in the kit. The hands-free kits include a ‘visor mount’ directional microphone and separate Press-To-Talk (PTT) button. The different kits are suitable for the following installations: • with SCC • with AIU • with Handset Based Console (HBC) • with the addition of 6 remote soft keys LOUDSPEAKER This is a low profile loudspeaker styled for vehicle installations where its compact size makes it ideal when space is limited. Rated to 8W RMS the loudspeaker provides excellent audio performance. It has a 1-metre lead, terminated with a 2-pole connector. T E T R A D ATA S H E E T APPLICATION KITS DESK MOUNT UNIT The Desk Mount Unit provides a compact, fixed mobile or dispatcher that can be used in both office and mobile environments. This unit can be powered via a mains power supply unit or an uninterruptible power supply in case of a mains failure. Either the fist microphone or handset can be connected to the Desk Mount Unit. These can be mounted on either side of the unit to cater for left and right handed operations. Alternatively, a headset and PTT footswitch can be connected for more conventional office use. TRANSPORTABLE UNITS The transportable units are available in two variants – suitcase and ruggedised. These provide portable solutions for situations that require the performance and coverage of the 3900 series. Typical scenarios include: emergency communications, search, rescue and temporary installations. Packaged in a ruggedised enclosure, the power options include an internal battery, 12V power supply and mains operation. MARINE KIT The marine kit provides a fully waterproof TETRA communication system for fast response, patrol and rescue craft. A standard SRG3000 Series Radio is housed in a robust, marine rated enclosure. All connectors are marine rated and will only connect to Sepura marine cabling and accessories. A variety of accessories allow the installation to be tailored to meet the varied needs of users. MOTORCYCLE KIT Designed to give a flexible installation solution, the motorcycle kit modules can be combined to meet different requirements. In the most basic form the motorcycle kit will provide headset audio and PTT control. Further options include a choice of handlebar control units, Bluetooth connectivity plus an intelligent audio interface to GSM phone and satellite navigation devices.
