residents, activists, skateboarding enthusiasts and community
leaders came together to form the Lakeside Skatepark Committee
in July 2009.

WELCOME TO LAKESIDE
For more than a century the Community of Lakeside has been one of the most interesting and
engaging communities in San Diego County. With a rich history and a promising future, the
Community of Lakeside is a delightful blend of past and present, offering the best of both
worlds to all our residents and businesses who call it home.
With a history worth remembering and a future worth being a part of, the area has also
changed with the times. Our community has been and will continue to be a celebrated part
of San Diego County. Our vision of bringing a state of the art, eco-friendly skatepark into a
community park setting is unmatch by other skateparks within Southern California, which is
considered to be the birthplace of modern day skateboarding.
When joining our community, you become a part of the vital social and service groups
that make Lakeside worth living and investing in. Some of these orgnizations include
The Lakeside Highway Lions Club, The Lakeside Chamber of Commerce, Lakeside
Community Planning Group, Lakeside Community Collaborative, Lakeside Union School
District, Lakeside Ministerial Association, El Capitan Stadium Association, Woman’s Club of
Lakeside, East County Property Owners Association VFW, Elks, Optimist, 4H, FFA, Boys and
Girls Club, Boys Scouts, Girls Scouts, Peacebuilders, PLAY, United States Naval Sea Cadet
Corps, youth soccer, baseball and football teams, BMX and the Lakeside Historical Society,
which works hard to keep the Americana feel to our Maine Street.
Location, Location, Location
Lindo Lake County Park is the recreational center of the Lakeside community. Our Community
Center serves as the hub of local activities and our Teen Center makes a positive impact in the
lives of our youth. Other amenities include family and group picnic areas, a dance ramada,
play areas, a softball field, horseshoe pits, fishing, and tennis courts. The park is also home to
the local county library and is well known for its excellent birdwatching opportunities. A new
fitness walk on the westernmost peninsula on the south shore of the lake features 17 physical
fitness stations that present a scenic, no-cost workout for park visitors.
What they are saying...
“I couldn’t be more excited about the momentum behind this world-class skate
park. When you support this project, you’re building more than just a park for
kids to play. You’re helping create happier, healthier Lakeside kids and families.”
Dianne Jacob
Supervisor, Second District, County of San Diego

LAKESIDE SKATEPARK
With the help of many local community organizations and the approved use of Parkland
Dedication Ordinance Funds (PLDO) by The Lakeside Community Planning Group, the
funding for design and construction are complete. The next phase of funding is needed to
insure a fiscal plan is in place to maintain and operate the park once it opens. In order
to continue this highly anticipated project and move it from design to completion, we are
offering sponsorship opportunities to the public and private sectors.
The Lakeside Skatepark has been designed by the community with professional
assistance from one of the best skatepark designer firms in the country, Action Sport
Design, and the oversight of the County of San Diego Department of Parks and
Recreation. In addition, the design of this park has recieved financial support and
endorsement from The Tony Hawk Foundation.
The 16,500 square foot, all-concrete park will be the host of local and national
competitions and become the area’s prime hot spot for skateboarders and the
community. The unique design provides elements for users of all skill levels, and gives
spectators the opportunity to view the activity in a comfortable park-like setting.
Lakeside prides itself on supporting businesses that likewise invest back into the
community. Creating visibility and communicating the benefits of your business or
service through sponsorship creates a loyalty like none other. Visited by tens of
thousands every year, Lindo Lake County Park is an ideal location with endless
opportunity including surrounding street traffic and year around events both
skateboarding and non-skateboarding that will only broaden your marketing effort.
What they are saying...
“In the interest of creating a sustainable local economy and a healthy safe
environment for the community of Lakeside; the Lakeside Chamber of Commerce
whole-heartedly supports the building of the Lakeside Skatepark in Lindo Lake Park.”
Kathy Kassel
Executive Director, The Lakeside Chamber of Commerce

EURO GAP & STAIRSET
OPPORTUNITY
While complementing the natural setting that is Lindo Lake Park, the
stairset is the staple of every skatepark. Serving as the metaphorical
platform that attracts people to skating by creating opportunity to rise
above and try again all while encouraging creativity.
The Stairset is the birthplace of today’s modern skateboarding style.
Ever since the street skating boom of the 1990s, the Euro Gap has
become one of the most sought after aspects in skatepark design. It’s
not uncommon to see a line of riders waiting to hit the Euro gap, as it
is a favorite of street skaters everywhere.
The appeal of both of these obstacles are sure to bring riders from all
over to join in the fun.

BANK WALLS & GAP
OPPORTUNITY
No skatepark is complete without bank walls. In fact, it is
the bank walls that encompass the park and create flow and
transition from one element of the park to the other.
Popular amongst a
diverse range of end
users, your marketing
demographic is
sure to be reached.
Have a multi-faceted
ad campaign, are
you a corporate
conglomerate with
several brands or a
local business that is
looking to support the
skatepark within a
limited budget. With
four available bank
walls you can choose
one, two or all four.
It is safe to say that
“street” skating has embedded itself within the modern
progression of skateboarding. In fact, you can’t open a
skateboard magazine without seeing photo spreads of
today’s top skaters creating new tricks and attracting fanfare
by those who marvel at their defying acts of gravity. A launch
pad not only for skaters, but your company.
The bank walls and gaps are at the core of the action.
