Deaf Again by Mark Drolsbaugh

As a requirement of each level of American Sign Language, you will be reading about Deaf Culture,

Deaf History, and the grammar/history of American Sign Language. The respective books and readings associated with each level of ASL will further your understanding of these three very important areas.

Also, District 15 is working towards achieving their goal of improving student reading and reading comprehension scores. Below, I’ve listed the requirements of what you are expected to do for the chapter readings for the novel, Deaf Again . Please familiarize yourself with the expectations and follow them precisely to avoid any headaches/frustrations. Plagiarizing, or copying someone else’s work is academic dishonesty and will not be tolerated. Plagiarizing is a sign of laziness and ignorance. You’re young adults being prepared for college and life outside of parental control/rules. Do not shame yourself by showing ignorance or laziness. As with ALL academic work, make sure it’s your own. You will be held accountable for any academic dishonesty. Your grade is dependent on the following:

The quality of the quiz/study questions you create from the readings . I require 15 quality questions. I won’t accept questions that are NOT well thought out, fluff, or non-challenging. (See examples below!) This assignment is geared to force you to think and predict what questions I’ve already created and that I WILL USE on the QUIZZES.

Whether or not you do ALL of the required questions , each question is worth TWO points.

EXTRA CREDIT : There will be questions on the quizzes that will provide opportunities to earn extra points.

EXPECTATIONS regarding questions :

You will be required to do 15 study questions for Chapters 5 – 8. They must be word-processed. I do not accept hand-written questions. Students will be quizzed on this reading.
