Nursing Entrance Test (PAX) Information-Application
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY IF SEEKING ADMISSION TO THE LUZERNE COUNTY
COMMUNITY COLLEGE NURSING PROGRAM.
 The NLN Pre-admission Exam (PAX) is a pre-entrance requirement for admission into the Nursing
Program. THERE ARE 3 PARTS TO THIS EXAM; ENGLISH, MATH AND SCIENCE. THIS EXAM IS
COMPUTER BASED.
 Students must have a Nursing Application on file in the Admissions Office before registering for the PAX.
 MINIMUM PASSING SCORES ARE REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR ADMISSION INTO

THE NURSING PROGRAM.
ALL EXAMS ARE GIVEN AT THE HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER, 38 E. MAIN ST,
NANTICOKE IN ROOMS 204 AND 207
PLEASE NOTE:
There are 2 sessions for this exam, Session 1 (held in April, May, and June) and
Session 2 (held in August through December). You may only take the exam once in
each session. For example, If you take this exam in Session 1 you may retake the test
again in Session 2. If you are taking this exam for the first time in Session 2, this will
be your only exam for the year to be considered for entrance into the nursing program
for the following fall.

IMPORTANT
Before you apply for the PAX test you MUST review the Criminal Policy
for Health Science Students. This policy may prevent you from acceptance
into Nursing or any Health Science program at LCCC that requires clinical
agencies. This policy is currently in effect and reflects the policy of our
clinical Agencies. To review the new Policy, please visit our website at
www.luzerne.edu and click on “Admissions” – “Getting Started” – “Health
Science Admissions” - there you will find a link for the policy.
