His primary focus is on international and domestic M&A, public and private offerings of debt and equity, MBO's, LBO's, recapitalizations, spin-offs, venture capital and private equity transactions, as well as general corporate representation. Baird John Moriarty joined Baird in December 2007 as a Managing Director and Head of Baird’s Palo Alto Investment Banking office. John is the Co-Head of Baird’s Technology Investment Banking effort and is also responsible for Baird’s coverage of West Coast Financial Sponsors and Growth Equity Investors. Prior to joining Baird, John spent 13 years in the Investment Banking group at A.G. Edwards and established A.G. Edwards’ West Coast Technology Investment Banking practice. John is a member of the Board of Directors of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. 1 Christopher Cooper, Partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP Christopher Cooper Partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP Chris Cooper, partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP, is the Americas Leader of the Deloitte Chinese Services Group (CSG) who also serves as the national leader for CSG in the United States. As the leader of CSG, Chris and his team collaborate with colleagues throughout the global organization to assist clients throughout the Americas region and China to realize sustainable value from their cross-border investments. Prior to this, Chris was a partner on the transaction services merger and acquisitions (M&A) team in the Deloitte Beijing office. He was the leader of Deloitte’s China Private Equity (PE) practice specializing in PE deals and inbound investment into China. For more than 20 years, Chris has worked on a variety of business and financial advisory projects with an emphasis on manufacturing, automotive, energy and Asian business. Chris has advised, and in most cases led, more than 200 M&A diligence transactions of all sizes. While working in San Jose, California, Chris advised on a variety of public and private M&A transactions with deal values ranging from several million to over one billion dollars. Chris serves on the board of directors for The 100K Strong Foundation, an organization focusing on promoting the expansion and diversification of Americans learning Mandarin and studying abroad in China. Furthermore, Chris is also a board member of the International School of the Peninsula and the Golden Bridges Foundation. In 1988, Chris graduated from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. Ting Louie, Senior Director, NASDAQ Private Market (sharespost & Nasdaq JV) Ting Louie is a managing director with the newly formed NASDAQ Private Market, a joint venture between the NASDAQ OMX Group and SharesPost. The NASDAQ Private Market is a newly launched exchange where private companies, shareholders, investors and brokerdealers can transact in private company stock in leading growth companies. Mr. Louie is responsible for business and corporate development for the NASDAQ Private Market, managing relationships with private companies and venture capital investors. Before joining the NASDAQ Private Market/ SharesPost, Mr. Louie was an investment banker with Deutsche Bank and Jefferies & Company, covering technology companies in the Internet, Digital Media and Software sectors. Mr. Louie as worked on over $20 billion dollars of transactions including initial public offerings, financings and mergers & acquisitions for leading growth companies in the technology sector. Mr. Louie received his MBA from the University of Southern California – Marshall School of Business and an AB in Economics from Occidental College. 2 Edward Lambert, Senior Vice President, Bridge Bank Edward Lambert’s career in Banking and Business spans four decades. Mr. Lambert began his career with Bank of America and branched out afterwards into the Private Sector for a number of years as a CFO and COO for a number of start-ups. He then returned to the Banking/Lending world and worked with many well-known Banks, including NationsBank, Comerica, Silicon Valley Bank, Imperial Bank and Bridge Bank, where he currently serves as a Senior Vice-President. Ed has provided hundreds of millions in credit to companies from start-up to Public. His endeavors include the creation of an International Business eco-system to allow for the free exchange of ideas and capital throughout the world. Mr. Lambert has served on Advisories and Board of Directors to several companies and community organizations with local, national and international focuses. He has appeared in conferences in the US and Europe serving on panels covering a varied and diverse series of subjects. Mr. Lambert graduated in 1977 with a BA in History and a Masters in Business (Marketing focus) in 1980 from Santa Clara University. He lives in San Jose and is married with 2 sons. Mr. Lambert holds a Dual US-European Citizenship and is fluent in French. Daniel Hansen, Partner, Montgomery & Hansen, LLP Dan has been practicing law in Silicon Valley for over 20 years. His practice concentrates on corporate and securities law for early stage companies, investor-side representation, and mergers and acquisitions. Dan represents companies in all aspects of corporate transactions, including formations, equity and debt financings, stock sales, secondary transactions, license and intellectual property technology agreements, and asset sales. He counsels venture funds, individual investors, and angel investors with regard to investment transactions and partnership formations. Dan has represented multiple companies in mergers and acquisitions on both the buy-side and sell-side. Acquiring companies he has represented include Samsung, Electronics for Imaging and Vista Wealth Management; companies he has helped to sell include TVN Entertainment, Multigig, Gale Technologies, AddVal, Beyond3 and Utopy. Dan is a regular speaker and guest lecturer on matters affecting startup companies and investors. He is member of the Angel Capital Association’s Public Policy Advisory Council. Prior to co-founding M&H in 2003, Dan was a partner at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, LLP in Palo Alto, California, where he practiced for 10 years. "Healthcare and Technology: A New Era of Digital Health" Moderator: Chu Chang, Former Vice President, International, Asia Pacific at Genomic Health Chu Chang is an accomplished strategic marketing and business development executive in the Life Sciences industry. Her experience spans the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and diagnostics sectors. She has demonstrated success in driving entrepreneurial initiatives within multinational corporations as well as in a private venture start-ups setting. By pioneering diagnostic and therapeutic businesses founded on genetics- and genomics-based technologies, Chu has supported patients and communities to improve health and wellness. For over 7 years, she helped to establish Genomic Health as the leading company in cancer molecular diagnostics to advance personalized medicine, negotiating key collaborations for product development and international expansion. She was the sole executive responsible for market development across Asia Pacific, including Japan, Australia, Greater China region, South Korea, India, and parts of the Gulf region. Chu earned a Masters from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a Bachelors in Biology from MIT. She is a member of the Licensing Executive Society, contributor to the MIT alum life sciences group and participant in multiple industry organizations. Chu also serves as a Board Member for Monte Jade. Chu is multilingual and thrives on diverse cultures in her life. She currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband, two children, and their lovely Australian Shepherd dog. Anil Sethi, Founder, CEO, Gliimpse Anil Sethi has founded or co-founded numerous HealthcareIT startups with multiples exits and IPOs. Anil returned to the US after an extended sabbatical off-the-grid, to self-fund his 5th startup, a platform for consumer-health called Gliimpse. Gliimpse is plug-and-play hardware and software that collects health data from the 1,000+ different electronic health record systems to give consumers access to their healthcare information. Sethi is a product strategy guy, a geek and nerd, foremost a roll-your-sleeves-up tech strategist. For over 20 years, he has vetted deals for NEA, Baker, Anthem, Mid-Atlantic Ventures and others in Private Equity and Venture Capital. He mentors at StartX MED, UCSF and Korea's Sparklabs, and has taught Entrepreneurship at the AES in India and Stanford's Biodesign program in mHealth. In the past, Sethi was CEO/CTO of Xlipstream, a plug-and-play appliance exporting to Personal Health Records. Sethi previously founded Sequoia Software and led the company through venture rounds, IPO, and acquisition. Sethi’s first startup, Dakota Imaging, was acquired by WebMD in 2004. Sethi’s technical achievements include organizing Operation Jumpstart, which founded Health Level 7’s Clinical Document Architecture (HL7’s CDA) used as CMS's standard for Obamacare. Sethi holds a patent for XML indexing. His wife accuses him of being a "car guy." 4 Darren Schulte, MD, MPP, President, Apixio Darren Schulte is the President of Apixio, the leading provider of big data analytics solution for at-risk healthcare organizations to drive optimal quality, outcomes, cost and revenue using both coded and textual data. He is passionate about understanding how to model healthcare delivery to achieve high value using data-driven insights. Previous to his current position, Darren was Chief Medical Officer of Apixio. Darren has a long and successful career in the healthcare space, including former Vice President of Strategy at Anvita Health, a subsidiary of Humana; former Executive Vice President of Collaborative Care and former Senior Vice President of Clinical Innovation at Alere. Darren is a graduate of UCSF Medical Center Internal Medicine Program. Matthew Douglass, Technical Co-Founder and VP of Platform , Practice Fusion Matthew Douglass joined Practice Fusion in 2007 as the founding engineer and oversaw the development of the underlying SaaS technology framework that now enables rapid, quality development of the Practice Fusion Health and Wellness Platform. He was responsible for establishing Practice Fusion's scalable C#.Net/MSSQL infrastructure and API platform. Matt has been instrumental in growing the Practice Fusion Technology department from 1 to 110+ and growing. "Leaning In: How Women Leaders Have Adopted a Variation of ‘Lean In’ to Rise" Moderator: Carol Carpenter, Chief Marketing Officer at ClearSlide As Chief Marketing Officer, Carol Carpenter leads all marketing initiatives at ClearSlide. Before joining ClearSlide, Carol was the General Manager of Consumer and Small Business for Trend Micro. In that role, Carol led and managed global strategy, sales, development, marketing, and alliances. A technology industry veteran, Carol has held previous marketing leadership roles at startups like Keynote Systems, Enviz, Tumbleweed and Apple. Carol earned a Bachelor’s degree at Stanford University and her MBA from the Harvard Business School (HBS). As a certified multi-tasker, she serves as a mentor for the HBS Women in Technology group, as a board member of Monte Jade, and also advises a few cool startups in both the Consumer and B2B segments. Erica Peng, Leadership and Organization Development Consultant and Coach Erica Peng is a leadership and organization development consultant and coach. She is also a Facilitator at Stanford University Graduate School of Business on two courses: Influence and Interpersonal Dynamics and Women in Management. As Adjunct Professor at University of San Francisco School of Law, she helps deliver a course on Negotiation and Conflict Resolution. Erica designs and leads leadership workshops for companies, organizations, Women’s and Asian Women’s groups, and also supports individuals with one-on-one coaching. Erica holds an MA in Organization Development from Sonoma State University and a BA in Architecture and Urban Design from Stanford University. 6 Monica Hein Vice President, Enterprise Transformation, IBM Monica Hein, Vice President for Enterprise Transformation at IBM, is responsible for worldwide development of IBM’s Enterprise Transformation program for a globally integrated enterprise. Prior to this role, Mrs. Hein held executive position in IBM’s Banking Center of Excellence, managing IBM cross brand global team in the design, integration, re-engineering, transformation and implementation of next generation banking and payment solutions Mrs. Hein has 20 years of experience in software development and management, business and technology leadership, and customer relationship management. She started her career with IBM, and returned to IBM after spending 3 years at Oracle Corporation serving in a number of leadership roles, and 2 years as Worldwide Director for Professional Services at Backweb Technologies specializing in internet technologies, and worked with global clients and partners. Mrs. Hein has a Masters degree in Computer Science and a Bachelors degree in Mathematics. Outside her professional work, Mrs. Hein is actively involved in community effort such as Women in Technology International. She also holds a position on the Advisory Board of other non-profit organization. Susan S. Wang, Board of Directors, Cirrus Logic, Nektar Therapeutics, Premier, Inc. Susan S. Wang retired from Solectron Corporation in 2002 after 18 years, having served as Executive Vice President for Corporate Development, Chief Financial Officer, and Corporate Secretary. She oversaw Solectron’s initial public offering and subsequent growth from a $40 million organization to a global corporation with more than $12 billion in revenue. A CPA, she began her career with Price Waterhouse and earlier held financial and managerial positions with Xerox Corporation and Westvaco Corporation. She currently serves on the Board of Directors and is Audit Committee Chair for Cirrus Logic, Nektar Therapeutics and Premier, Inc. and serves on Cirrus Logic’s Compensation Committee. She also serves as Chair of the Board of Directors and member of the Audit Committee for Suntech Power. Previously, Susan served on the Board of Directors of Calpine, Corp., Avanex, Inc., Rae Systems, Inc. and Altera Corp. Joy Chen, Chief Executive Officer, Yes To, Inc. Joy Chen is the Chief Executive Officer for Yes To, Inc., which specializes in Natural Skincare globally. In the last three years, she has transformed the business and has catapulted the brand to the #2 category leadership position in natural personal care. Despite the economic downturn in the last several years, she successfully quadrupled the business revenue and increased the valuation of the company by five times since she joined. Prior to Yes To Inc., Joy has spent 16 years at the Clorox Company, and was the Vice President General Manager of the Laundry business. She had responsibilities for a business over $1Billion, handled the company’s most valuable brand equity, Clorox, and managed a large multi-functional organization. Her other Clorox positions included senior leadership roles in Marketing, Sales and Operations. Her work experience spans large and small companies, focuses on tackling complex, business turnarounds and shows her leadership effectiveness through leading organizations through change. Joy is an active Board member and advisor for start-up businesses and non profits. 7 Specifically, she is active with 18 Rabbits and 479 popcorn. She supports many women entrepreneurs by providing guidance and coaching to starting founders/CEOs in the Bay Area. Additionally, she is on the Board for Junior Achievement.
