Professional Bio for a realtor and entrepreneur
Jared Wilson helps visionary real estate developers re-imagine Canada’s urban
landscape. He is drawn to transformative projects that reach beyond bricks and
mortar-utility toward the iconic, the storied and the beautiful.
It takes more than just sales ability to reposition real estate projects that sell-out
within weeks of re-launch, and go on to win awards. It takes a big personality to
rally teams of exceptional people, and to build tiered personal networks made up of
Canada’s top entertainment insiders. Jared Wilson has done all of the above.
Anything but a narrow specialist, he possesses equally developed strengths in
sales, marketing, property management and leasing. Taken together, these
attributes qualify him as a real estate powerhouse who can take on any
development--from luxury town homes to commercial spaces--and play a key role
in making it a resounding success.
Jared began his career in hospitality in the 1990s, securing tipping-point
momentum for many bars and restaurants in the burgeoning King West district.
In 2001, he joined his current employer, Axis Developments, a family run company
with a select portfolio of character rich projects. Over the past 11 years, he has
been given a free hand to demonstrate not just his creative sensibility but his
entrepreneurial spirit as well.
One of his first projects was taking over the management of a hard conversion for
the Sweet Spot Lofts, a 120-unit condominium building. He sold many of the units
internally, breaking price per square foot records in the building.
He also repositioned The Fanwood Residences in downtown Oshawa, another
120-unit hard conversion that had yet to find its customer. He reinvigorated the
sales and marketing campaign to build pride of ownership, while appealing to a new
market of renters.
Moving steadily into more complex roles, he oversaw The Treetop Lofts, which
involved construction of four floors on an existing four-story structure. As project
manager, he rallied a “dream team” that included Brad Lamb, Core Architects and
Montana Steel. Opening weekend saw the sale of 60% of the property’s 150 units-50 of which he sold himself. The project won a national marketing award and was
nominated for nine Greater Toronto Homebuilder Awards including best project,
marketing campaign, sales office, logo and signage.
Recently, Jared oversaw the sales and marketing campaign for a luxury town home
development in the Beaches. He sold half of the units internally.
His goal is to continue working with entrepreneurial developers who can utilize his
breadth of skills to forward exceptional building projects that are shifting Canada’s
urban landscape.
