THE BLACK DEATH (BUBONIC PLAGUE) HAD AFFECTED
ALL OF EUROPE BY THE YEAR 1353.
Your assignment is to research the Black Death and write a
journal detailing how the plague affected you and your
community.
Research the following information regarding the Black Death and
include all points in your journal. Make sure your journal is
believable for the time period.
1. By what means did it spread through Europe?
2. What were the symptoms and the death percentage?
3. How did it affect the community?
4. What were the medical treatments at the time?
5. What did the people at the time think caused the plague of the
14th century?
6. What role did the church play?
Using historical information, write 6 journal entries 6-8 sentences
long detailing how this plague affected you and your family. Place
yourself in the historic context. These entries need not be
consecutive but must all be dated.
Make sure your life is believable for the middle ages.
Be Creative!
You will be graded on historical accuracy, creativity and including
all of the above information into your journal.
