The twenty third Women of Kent Luncheon will take place on Wednesday 14th May 2014 at 12 for 12.30pm at the Mercure
Maidstone Great Danes Hotel.
The purpose of this bi-annual Luncheon is to bring together and honour women who have given outstanding service to the County
of Kent through their professional or voluntary work. It is always an enjoyable occasion and gives an opportunity for our guests to
exchange views with others representing many organisations in Kent. At the same time the Luncheon raises a substantial sum for a
Kent charity. In 2012 we donated £10,000 to Kent Minds.
Our chosen charity for this Luncheon is Dementia UK, in support of their Admiral Nurses in Kent. Admiral Nurses are qualified
mental health nurses specialising in dementia care. Their role is to help the families affected by dementia and improve the quality
of their life with emotional and psychological support and co-ordinated care provision and practical assistance.
The speaker will be the highly acclaimed novelist Joanna Trollope OBE, whose contemporary reworking of Jane Austen’s “Sense
and Sensibility” launched The Austen Project last year.
Tickets are £26 for the lunch and any monies in excess of this amount will go to the charity.
