Stellen Sie sich Ihr Studium wie eine Pyramide vor. Ohne ein vernünftiges Fundament keine
schwindelerregenden Höhen. Oder auf unsere Disziplin angewandt: Ohne eine
Minimalkenntnis der Geschichte der amerikanischen Literatur und ihrer wichtigsten Texte
keine Spezialisierung. Letzterer ist vor allem das Hauptstudium gewidmet, die Grundlagen
legen Sie im Grundstudium. In der Zwischenprüfung können Sie dann nachweisen, wie gut
Sie sich auf unserem Feld auskennen. Zur Unterstützung haben wir eine Literaturliste
vorbereitet, aus der Sie eine Auswahl treffen können. Nebenfachmagisterstudenten sind
verpflichtet, bis zur Zwischenprüfung 12 Texte aus dieser Liste zu lesen, Lehramtsstudenten
und Hauptfachmagisterstudenten müssen 14 Titel lesen. (Beachten Sie bitte, daß in der
englischen Literatur die gleiche Anforderung auf Sie zukommt.)
