課程概述
課程目標
In the second semester of the literature course, poetry and drama, another two
agreed-on genres in English literature, will be the focus. Still based on The
Norton Introduction to Literature, 8th edition, this course aims to help you
understand and appreciate verse and dramatic languages. The selective literary
works will be read closely and analyzed in terms of the literary elements.
To comprehend the works better, you need to read assigned texts in advance and
raise questions according to each text before class every week. In addition, each
group needs to make one oral report on one assigned poet. You are required to
turn in one response paper for your final on one of the given poems or plays.

Grades are hence calculated according to group assignments including one oral
report (30%), one in-class mid-term exam (30%), and one term paper (40%).
