OUR CHANGING WORLD! Friday, September 04, 2009 This is something that the Lord has laid upon my heart to write. There is a great contrast in the world today and the world that I was born in. There is a great difference in the culture of today and morality. The sins that are so blatantly performed on television and in public places were not even spoken of in mixed company when I was growing up. America has lost its shame. Immorality has become the normal way of life, even accepted in most churches. When I was young, people who lived together without the benefit of marriage were not accepted by society and were looked down on; this was called shacking up (adultery). Homosexuals were called queer, and were avoided like the plague (Sodomites), and were looked down on. Men and women who lived loose sexual lives were looked down on as immoral and were not accepted by society. If a woman become pregnant out of wedlock, she got married to the responsible man, this was called a shotgun wedding; the shotgun was generally wielded by the woman’s father. In those days most people had a moral up bringing that taught them that there was a day of reckoning and they would be rewarded for the life that they lived here on Earth, whether it was good or bad. Our School day started with prayer and a pledge of allegiance to the flag and to the Republic of the United States of America. Children were taught to respect the teachers, older people, and God. Children were taught manners, and to speak respectfully to all who were older that them, and that the Law enforcement officers were there to protect them, and that they deserved respect. Children were expected to behave in a respectful manner when away from home. If they were visiting a neighbor and misbehaved, that neighbor was expected to correct that child the same way that they corrected their own, even a spanking was in order if the child deserved it, and generally would receive another spanking when they returned home, for embarrassing their parents. Parents prayed with their children and took them to church, and did not send them. Children were taught to pray when they were troubled and that God would answer their prayers. They learned to depend on God. Children were taught to work for their spending money and not to depend on their parents for every thing, they were taught to spend their money wisely, and to tithe, so that God would bless them. Children were taught to save for a rainy day and to be self reliant, and to have self respect. Sadly most of my generation has passed on to be with the Lord, and those who are left that really rely on the Lord have lost control of our society. Now the State agencies believe that the children belong to society and the parents should not be able to raise their children according to God’s word. And risk being put in jail if they correct their child in a manner not accepted by the state. God has been banned from the class room and every federal building or federal property. We are now entering the second generation of a permissive society where anything goes as far as child rearing is concerned. Our school systems have become virtual spiritual cesspools. Students are taught that the deviant sinful lifestyles are just normal lifestyles and are encouraged to experiment these deviant lifestyles. Children have no respect for teachers or anyone else, and offensive language is the norm. The young people of today are having children with their boyfriends or girlfriends instead of with husbands and wives. Babies are being killed thru abortion, and young lives are being destroyed through this process. The children of today are the leaders of tomorrow, and how can they lead if they are not taught how. When I was young we trusted God for everything, we put God first in our lives and honored him as the creator of this Universe, and we humbled ourselves before God. Our nation was blessed. When this nation went to war, we won and had the backing of every citizen of the United States. This whole nation prayed daily for our men that were fighting, and they won the war, because there was a nation praying and God answered the prayer. When I returned from the war in Viet Nam I felt like I had returned to a foreign land, I had been gone for about a year, but there had been a radical change in that year (1963 to 1964) and I had to hang my head at the way people disrespected our military and disrespected God. Now I know that times will change, but the word of God will never change, those sins that have become the normal way of life are still just that SIN, and will be dealt with in the way that God deals with sin. People today have a casual perception of God. They think that he is something to put away in the closet until they get into trouble, then he can be pulled out and used to get them out of trouble and returned to the closet. Well let me tell you that the Almighty God of this Universe is an almighty spiritual being that rules this whole Universe and holds everything in place, and without him there is nothing. If you do not have a very personal relationship with him you will not enter into heaven. God wants people who are living a holy life according to his word, and if you do not know how to live a holy life I would strongly recommend the HOLY BIBLE to you. We are living in the last days of the Gentile dispensation, and the return of Jesus Christ is imminent, let us look at the words of the Apostle Paul in his letter to Timothy. 2 Timothy chapter 3:1, this know also that in the last days perilous times shall come, for men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affections, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God, having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof; from such turn away. Friends the Holy Spirit moved on the apostle Paul to write this warning in the word of God for those of us who are living in this perilous time of today. He gave us this warning so that we can look at the things that are happening around us and around the world; we know that this is a warning for us to prepare for the greatest event of all times, the return of His Son Jesus Christ as our eternal king. God has a purpose for every human being that is on this Earth today, he has a job that each of us should be doing. We call this God’s will for my life. Do you know what God’s will is for your life? Do you have a personal relationship with God? Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior? The first step is to realize that you need a Savior; if you have unconfessed sin in your life, you do need a savior and, you must confess your sin to God and ask forgiveness in the name of Jesus and accept Jesus Christ the Son of God, as your personal savior. The next step to living a holy life is to turn away from those sins that you were involved in. You are a new creature in Christ, you are now the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwells in you. (1st. Corinthians 3:16) You can communicate with God at anytime on any subject, he is there. Read your Bible daily and pray always, God loves to hear from you, he will guide you in all things because he loves you. Confess to others that you are a child of God and that Jesus Christ is your personal savior. Jesus said that if you are ashamed of him before men, that he will be ashamed of you before his father God and his holy angels. Ask God to reveal to you, his will for your life, and he will. When he shows you, you must do what he wants you to do, because the gifts and the calling of God are without repentance, Romans 11:29. Yours in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Brother Sam.
