Scoring Scale for the 1960s and 1970s: Students will examine the economic, political, social
transformation, and changes in foreign/domestic policy of the 1960s and 1970s.
Advanced
Score 4.0
In addition to score 3.0 performance, in-depth inferences, applications, and
synthesis of information regarding but not limited to the following:
 Describe the impact of the Cold War on American politics and
society.
 Compare the foreign/domestic policies of the Kennedy/Johnson
administrations.
 Evaluate the social and political impacts of the Vietnam War.
 Appraise the growing distrust of the US government during the
1960s and 1970s.
 Compare the foreign/domestic policies of the
Nixon/Ford/Carter administrations.
 Explain the changing roles of women in society, the labor force,
politics, and the changing family structure.
 Summarize the environmental and energy issues both foreign
and domestic.
Score 3.5 In addition to score 3.0 performance, partial success at
inferences and applications that goes beyond what was taught
