The past continuous tense
*The past continuous tense refers to a long action which happened in
the past and interrupted by a short action.
Examples:
1-I was studying all night.
2-As I was walking,I met Mary.
3-While he was swimming,he found a gold ring.
4-Just as they were digging, they saw a snake.
*This tense is used with : (While/as/just as/when)
While,as,just as +past continuous…………..past simple

*Sometimes (while) is followed by two long actions:
