MOTIVATION
1. Fruit Game
2. How many of you have eaten an apple, orange, pear,
banana, or grapes?
3. How many of you have actually seen these fruits?
4. Do you believe that your drawings of theses fruits
accurately represent the fruit?
5. The point is this, we have all seen these fruits and we
have all tasted these fruits but the drawings of the
fruits are poor representations of the actual fruits.
Artist must develop their observational skills before
becoming true artists. This is a skill we must work to
build.
6. Now what colors do you see?
7. Describe the shape of the fruit?
8. How does the fruit feel in you hand?
9. Look carefully at the fruit and see the changes in
values caused from the different effects that lighting
has upon the objects. Look for the highlights and
shadows.
10.Look at how the fruit appears to grow. You would
represent the shape of the fruit with contour pencil
strokes.
11.View and discuss student and teacher examples of
drawings of fruit.
12.Students will select a color and find a least 4 other
values or hues of that color to create a 5 block gradual
