COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course meets the requirements for Advanced Placement Literature and
Composition. Students will study read and write extensively. Students are expected to take the AP Literature and
Composition national exam in May.

stories during boot camp – 45%
 Preparation grades including summer
reading and short stories quizzes
 Weekly multiple choice will not be
graded, but may be calculated in the
participation grade.

 Essays every other week on the novels,
plays, poetry, and short prose
 SPOTTTS assigned every other week
to practice poetry analysis
 DJs assigned every other week to
practice prose analysis
 Preparation grades based on the
readings assigned

Hamlet essay
Grades are weighted and based on the following percentages:
Essays – 45%, SPOTTTS – 20%, DJs – 20%, P&P – 15%
