Motor Bike Expo 2016 – Veronafiere, January 22nd/24th 2016 – www.motorbikeexpo.it PRESS RELEASE On the Verona’s event second day, Custom, Sport and highlighted product The sun shines on Motor Bike Expo visitors: super turnout Italians do it better: first successes for the national production Specials Emotions and super turnout in the pavilions of Motor Bike Expo, the great international show of bikers opened until tomorrow (Sunday, January 24th) in Fiera Verona. The second day confirmed the positive trend with a 10% turnout increase in reference at 2015. Even for the 2016 edition, eighth in Verona, the custom and café racer dedicated areas were stormed, astonishing the great number of visitors that, from the early hours of a sunny day, filled the exhibition. The customizations, full of creativity and a high research of technology (or even the intertwine of the two faces) so represent, a style choice always more appreciated by enthusiasts. Fred Krugger undisputed custom star and two time AMD world champion, says about Motor Bike Expo: “The thing that I like the most of this event is the opportunity to enjoy, in every category, some of the most beautiful Specials existing and this is very exciting”. “I come from a small country (Belgium, editor’s note) where the custom culture is not very well known. The thing that I most appreciate of the Italian motorcycling is the strong synergy among the companies from different sectors. Here a two-wheel expert can compare with special parts, replacements, and even clothing and helmets production companies”. The first finished contest hosted by Motor Bike Expo 2016 celebrated the “Ferro dell’Anno 2016” election by the magazine Ferro. The Editor in Chief Fabio Cormio with DJ Ringo, awarded the Special chose by a panel made of well-known experts famous for the enthusiasts, amid them Krugger himself, Ace Café London owner Mark Wilsmore, esteemed Italian customizers, the journalist Giovanni Di Pillo and the designer Oberdan Bezzi. They have tested the propositions of enthusiasts, experts and not, coming from around Italy. At the end, “Ferro dell’Anno 2016” turned out to be the Special on Ducati 748 basis by Lucio Santaniello who received the special award by Fred Krugger. With the partnership of Ferro, Honda awarded the Best Special on a Honda basis: the Mazzabric that originates in a Hornet made by Thomas Betti, from Novafeltria, was awarded with a Honda SH Scooter. Among the important guests that made the event shone, Karen Davidson (Willie G. Davidson’s daughter and great niece of one of the founders of Harley Davidson brand, General Merchandise division Creative Director) declared: “I was impressed by the high level of the Specials exhibited. The thing that really made me speechless was the level of the attention to details.” “Italians are more bolder” replied Ray Drea, design manager of the American brand “both stylistically and technically: they are more inclined to risk, to experiment news. I have found a certain affinity to food: after all, Italian food is a connection… who could ever want to always eat the same dish?” Karen Davidson and Ray Drea delivered, following their opinion, the most beautiful Motor Bike Expo Special, the “Willie G.Davidson Design Studio” trophy: an exclusive prize because it is made by amazing characters in the custom motorcycle world. The chosen one was Andrea Radaelli from Radikal Choppers, maker of the “No Rules” Special: a vehicle inspired to a 20s boardtracker using a 1930 VL framework and a Knucklehead 1947 twin cylinder propeller. Amid the other guest stars, Jeff Decker, the artist and Californian customizer, commented: “The thing that struck me was the familiar atmosphere. I think that the two essential persons of the event are Francesco and Paola (Agnoletto and Somma), center of a phenomenon that they have created and took care of until the realization of an exhibition of this kind. The beautiful thing is that the Italians are cosmopolite: USA tends to appreciate most of all the American production, whereas here all the motorcycles are appreciated for their beauty and performances, whether or not Italian“. Among the Motor Bike Expo most cult moments, the low budget movie “Dirtbag” by Paolo Asuncion and the book “La Moto Spiegata a Mio Figlio” by Roberto Parodi, world premieres. The feature recounts in a provocative way the lowbrow motorcycle build off. A nonconformist and politic tale, in opposition to the most expensive and glossy chopper fashion. The movie that brings the bikers with their feet back on the ground to custom motorcycle with a maximum budget of 1000 Dollars will be available on February on the Vimeo circuit. As a traditional guest of the Verona event, Parodi, who revealed the anecdotes and the emotion, which encouraged him to write his latest book, and he widened his tale to his trips and experiences that he did during these amazing adventures. Motor Bike Expo became an unmissable opportunity for the main world motorcycling brands that can make the many enthusiastic visitors experience their best creations. All the attention is on the Harley-Davidson area, on the 2016 Sportser Iron, protagonist of the “Battle of Kings” second edition, the international contest that award the “best among the best” dealer that is going to challenge in the customizing of this model. Between December 2015 and June 2016, the dealers will test their originality, creativity and knowledge: the contest happens in two steps, an international first competition phase and a final one among the national champions for the “Custom King” 2016 election. The award ceremony will take place at Biarritz “Wheels and Waves” on June More surprises at the Borgo Panigale Stand which, after the Ducati Café Racer Scrambler® and thanks to the artistic Mr. Martini from Verona who made a second creation on a Scrambler® basis. It is the Peace Sixty2, born on the new Sixty2 with a stronger “Racer” character, if compared to the previous Special made by the same customizer: thanks to the 60s style fairing. Revolution is, instead, a Sixty2 Scrambler® transformed in a classic bobber style. The motorcycle is characterized by Officine Mermaid handmade elements, still makers of the Scratch Scrambler ®. The customizer from Milan made, specifically for Revolution, a leather single seater, the lab steering wheel and the number sign. Dario Lopez Studio made also the Artika Scrambler ® a new interpretation of the last 70s Pantah Ice Ducati that was part of the one brand trophy, dedicated then only to the Pantah Ducatis, one of the most iconic ones by Borgo Panigale and also exhibited in the Ducati Museum. Pirelli snow tires for icing make for the Scrambler® an extreme and unique character motorcycle. Triumph, the legendary English brand, entirely dedicated his area inside Motor Bike Expo to the updated Bonneville family: five models and three unreleased engine types from the smallest 900cc Street Twin to the gritty T120, T120 Black, Thruxton and Thruxton R (fueled by a 1200cc engine). The visitors had the chance to enjoy the Thruxton drove by David Beckham in the Outlaws feature and the Thruxton Icon Café Racer, made with the partnership of Icon Panorama. Only for Motor Bike Expo, the premiere of the Special on the Street Twin basis made with Pirelli to celebrate the collaboration between the two historical brands. The amazing Ciro De Petri presented today the MV Agusta Adventures 2016 calendar. The second 2016 Motor Bike Expo day was characterized by the presence of many protagonists coming even from the sport world, connected with the show by a friendship and a respect relationship that makes them something more than simple “guests”. Important elements that need to be highlighted are the presentation of two world teams, Team Perdercini (World SBK) and Bardhal Evan Bros Team (600 SuperSport), Riccardo Russo presence, FMI Cup Superstock 1000 S official racer with the new YF-R1 Yamaha, the “Bivacco Dakar” meeting, promoted by De Petri with present and past rally leaders. Federmoto presented the CIV 2016 edition that starts again with its uncontested educational value, giving to Moto3 world championship, racers as Di Ginnantonio and Spiranelli, and Bezzecchi to the Junior world championship. A good weather supported the open-air shows and exhibitions followed by thousands of enthusiasts. Particularly appreciated the terrific Drifting Auto performances by Graziano Rossi and other driving experts with powerful vehicles with more than 500 horsepower motor that are going to perform even today. Among the curiosities the presence of the Europe youngest drifter, the thirteen-year-old Riccardo Tonali (www.riccardotonali.com) riding his M3 BMW. The young racer, exhibited in Tu si que vales tv show, drives go-karts since he was four, and cars since he was ten. An unforgettable moment was Motor Bike Expo’s “fuori salone” in the new area inaugurated by Nicola Martini, nicknamed Mr. Martini. “Special” is the name given to the structure, a passion-box inside a 50s service station, as the important birthday that Nicola celebrated at midnight with an important guest, Karen Davidson and the Motor Bike Expo creator Francesco Agnoletto. In this area will take place a food service, a mechanic’s workshop, exhibiting areas and partners’ stores that believed with Martini in this new adventure.
