Macbeth 5.5: Various Lit Device Interpretation
What:
 Interpret the scene through a specific lit device.
How:
 After we read and review the scene as a class, you will be collaborating with your group
members to present the scene using the lit device assigned to you.
Lit Devices:
 Simile – explain the scene by writing a simile
 Metaphor – explain the scene by writing a metaphor
 Personification – explain the scene with an example of personification
 Symbol – explain the scene using a symbol
 Rap – explain the scene through a rap/song (okay, NOT a lit device!)
 Alliteration – explain the scene through a tongue twister
 Soliloquy – explain the scene through a 5-line soliloquy
 Allusion – explain the scene referencing a person, place, or thing in history or another
literary work
Requirements:
 Use a piece of butcher paper to present your lit device – a visual for us visual learners.
 Be sure to provide a brief explanation of your lit device in your presentation to the class.
