Hamlet Soliloquy Assignment
In preparation for your final acting project, each student will be required to present a soliloquy of your
choice to the class.

Requirements
Your scene must be at least 15 lines long
You must have some form of costuming
You must incorporate at least one prop
You must exhibit the emotions of the character in this scene
You may edit a long soliloquy into a shorter one
You may project an image from the projector to “set the scene”
Written Analysis
After having prepared to present a soliloquy, you should have gotten a deeper understanding of the
character, the scene, and the circumstances surrounding the soliloquy. Write a one-page analysis
demonstrating your new-found understanding of the character, the scene, etc.
Grades
You will be graded on:
The effort demonstrated in your performance.
Memorization of the scene.
Your demonstration of an understanding of the character & the scene.
The insightfulness of your written analysis.
