Role Audience Format Artist Audience Playbill An admirer of Shakespeare’s work The World Play Actors The class Performance Your Own Original Idea Topic Create a Playbill for the performance of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” as it would look in the late 1500’s. (Be sure to add historically accurate advertisements, news, etc. and that the language is in old English.) Rewrite an act from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in today’s language using today’s technology in the setting. Type out the screenplay in proper format, including stage directions. Either alone or in a group, perform a scene from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Old English lines must be memorized; lines must be spoken with emotion and feeling, and stage directions followed. You will have to either perform it for the class or record it and show it to us!
