El Shemi January 26, 2011 WHEREAS; The Resource for Travel Allocations Committee met on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 8:30pm in the College of Music Lounge, WHEREAS; The Resource for Travel Allocations Committee were petitioned by Undergraduate Art History Association, National Society for Minorities in Hospitality, Young Americans for Liberty, FSU Weightlifting Club, Tallahassee Sustainability, and Campaign for Liberty, WHEREAS; The Resource for Travel Allocations Committee tabled the Tallahassee Sustainability Group and funded the other organizations as shown below, therefore: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SIXTY-THIRD STUDENT SENATE THAT: The Senate approves the allocation and expenditure of all organizations listed above in the following manner, and with the following proviso: Group Undergraduate Art History Association National Society for Minorities in Hospitality Young Americans for Liberty FSU Weightlifting Club Campaign for Liberty Registration __ Lodging $559.00 Travel __ __ __ $1091.00 __ __ $1,323.00 $660.00 $436.00 __ __ $753.00 __ Proviso: - All funds not spent within ninety days will be returned to the RTAC account All funding granted to travel must be spent on the travel costs relating to the designated conference referenced in the presentation to the RTAC committee If the allocated amount exceeds 1,500, this resolution must pass as a whole through Senate with a ¾ vote - All funds are distributed in a lump sum unless proviso states otherwise Be it also resolved that a copy of this resolution be sent to: Caroline Chance– Senate President Anwar Thomas – Senate Pro Tempore Dayana Bernavil – Student Body Treasurer Notes/Purpose 1. Undergraduate Art History Association- Requested $558.25 for lodging for 4 nights to attend the College Arts Association Annual Conference on Feb. 812th. Committee fully funded. Vote: 6Y- 2A 2. National Society for Minorities in Hospitality- Came and requested $7,266.00 originally. Forms were filled out wrong and the true request was $2,101.40. After correcting the travel quote to include the driver fee and underage fee, the committee funded $1091.00 for 3 Avis vans for 4 days plus fees. Vote: 5Y- 2N- 1A 3. Young Americans for Liberty- Requested $1,322.40 for 6 plane tickets to attend the Students for Liberty International Conference on Feb. 18-20th. The organization had a great presentation and had already funded a few trips themselves this year, so the committee decided to fully fund. Vote: 6Y- 2N. 4. FSU Weightlifting Club- Originally requested $1096.00 but then corrected the request to add transportation. Since the committee did not have the exact number from Avis or any quotes, they decided to fund at the original request of $1096.00. Vote: 5Y- 3N- 0A 5. Tallahassee Sustainability Group- Tabled. The organization requested $2,780.00, but due to the lack of documentation and the time still allotted before the conference, the committee decided to table them to give them a chance to re-request. Vote: 7Y- 0N-0A 6. Campaign for Liberty- Requested $1,164.00 for travel and lodging to attend The Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington on Feb. 9-13th. The committee funded the lodging for $753.00. Vote: 6Y- 1N-1A
