have learned from the play. Type each project and staple this paper to the front of

Write a brief essay (3 or more
paragraphs) about why Arthur Miller
wrote the Crucible. Read his biography
and “Why I wrote the Crucible” on pgs.
2-3, as well as looking over your notes
from class about the Crucible and
McCarthyism. Your essay needs to
show the parallel between the two
events as well as why Arthur Miller was
personally motivated to write the story.
What is the main message of the
Crucible that a reader today can take
away from the story? How does the
story relate to today, and especially to
today’s teenagers? Use at least three
direct references from the play to
answer this question. Your final
product should be a brief essay (3 or
more paragraphs).
Write a brief (3 or more paragraphs)
essay about how a character in the
Crucible relates to someone you know
today OR about how an event from the
Crucible is similar to something that
has happened to you. Be sure to use
examples from the play to show how
the person or event is similar to the
person you know or the event you
experienced. You should have at least
three direct references from the play.
Draw a picture of the most important
scene from the play. Then, write a
brief description of what is taking place
in the scene and why it is the most
important scene from the play. Be sure
to address how this scene fits into the
overall theme of the play. This
description should be about 2-3
paragraphs.
