)

(Montague) and Tybalt (Capulet). As they fight, more and more people join. Escalus, the Prince of Verona who angrily learns of this fight, shows up and stops it (everyone listens to him) and declares a death penalty for anyone from either of the two families that fights again.
Capulet and Montegue show up at the very end of the fight, make angry faces at each other, and then go on their way. Montegue stops Benvolio to ask if Romeo had been in the fight. Benvolio says that he saw Romeo wandering around in the woods early that morning.
When Romeo shows up, his parents leave so Benvolio can find out what his deal is. We learn is lovesick. Rosaline, who he thinks is really hot, just wants to be friends.
Benvolio tells Romeo to look at other girls, because Rosaline really isn’t all that.
Meanwhile Capulet is keen for Paris to marry his daughter Juliet and plans a party to be held later that night. Romeo and friends decide to turn up uninvited, Romeo hoping to see
Rosaline, whom he won’t stop talking about...
Lady Capulet discusses the idea of marriage to Paris with Juliet. Juliet keeps her options open. The Nurse wishes Juliet every possible happiness...
Meanwhile Mercutio attempts to cheer a lovesick Romeo up, saying many things that make him sound completely insane. They all talk about dreams for a long time, because
Romeo had a dream that something bad was about to happen (it’s never a good sign when you’re the leading male in a play that’s called a “tradgedy”). They decide to put their masks on and head to the party.
At the Capulet's party, Romeo who is disguised by a mask, falls in love with Juliet on sight (Rosaline who?). Tybalt recognizes Romeo through his mask, and wants to fight him right then and there, but Capulet stops Tybalt from attacking Romeo at his party, telling him there will be other opportunities. Romeo and Juliet talk for about 20 seconds before saying that they will love each other forever, before learning each other’s names or seeing each other’s faces.
Once they are apart, the nurse talks to both Romeo and Juliet, and learn that they are each enemies of the other's family... This is a bummer.

Romeo knows that if he is caught on Capulet property, he will likely be killed. Ignoring the danger, Romeo scales the Capulet's wall to be near Juliet, the woman he cannot forget... He hangs out in the orchard, hoping to see Juliet through a window or something
(which is kind of creepy). Juliet comes out onto her balcony, and doesn’t see Romeo, but begins talking about him loud enough for him to hear. Romeo learns of Juliet's love for him. After declaring their feelings for each other, the two decide to marry. Juliet will send
Romeo a messenger in the morning to make plans for their wedding...
The very next day, Romeo goes to meet his friend, Friar Laurence. The Friar wonders how Romeo can forget Rosaline so quickly but agrees to marry the two since he hopes this marriage it will end the long running Montague / Capulet feud...
Romeo catches up with his friends Mercutio and Benvolio. Juliet's messenger, the Nurse, arrives and the wedding is set for later that day. This makes Romeo very happy. Act II ends with Romeo and Juliet's marriage in Friar Lawrence’s cell.

Juliet (Married to Romeo now)
Benvolio and Mercutio (both Montagues) meet Tybalt (Capulet). Tybalt attempts to provoke Romeo into fighting. Romeo keeps saying no, which makes Mercutio mad, so he sticks up for Romeo and fights Tybalt. Romeo gets in the way to try to stop them, and
Tybalt uses the opportunity to kill Mercutio. Romeo, now super mad, kills Tybalt.
Romeo then runs away. Escalus, the Prince of Verona, shows up and sees the dead bodies and banishes Romeo from Verona, threatening death should he ever return. Juliet learns of Romeo killing Tybalt and despite being torn between her loyalty for her family and
Romeo, mourns her husband Romeo's banishment.
Romeo learns of the banishment order, realizing he will not be able to see Juliet again, he’s really sad. Friar Laurence suggests Romeo go to Juliet's bed chamber to comfort his wife before he runs away to the country. Capulet, who does not know of Romeo and
Juliet's marriage, decides that the marriage of Juliet to Paris must now proceed, after being convinced by Paris. Since marriages are arranged in Verona, he doesn’t talk to
Juliet, he just decides the wedding will be Thursday (the scene takes place on Monday).
We learn that Romeo and Juliet had a slumber party the night before. Romeo sneaks off before anyone comes into the room. Juliet who is now already secretly married to
Romeo, learns that she is to marry Paris. She tries to fight her father's wishes, failing to dissuade him. Juliet decides to commit suicide if all else fails... they weren’t very keen on divorces back then.

Thursday. Juliet is cold to Paris, so he takes off. Friar Laurence tells Juliet to take a potion simulating death, so she’ll wake up in the Capulet tomb, and Romeo and her can run away and no one will know.
Capulet makes plans for Juliet's wedding. Juliet, who has decided to drink Friar
Laurence's potion, no longer opposes the wedding, delighting Capulet.
Hearing this good news, Capulet, who is keen to have Juliet marry Paris decides to move the wedding forward. It will now be on Wednesday morning, not Thursday as previously planned...
Juliet succeeds in sleeping alone which allows her to take the potion in privacy. Juliet worries about the Friar's intentions before the potion takes effect and she falls asleep...
Lady Capulet and the Nurse are busy making preparations for the wedding. It is 3 o'clock in the morning and now Capulet hearing music announcing Paris' arrival, tells the Nurse to wake Juliet. The Capulet's learn that their daughter Juliet is dead. The wedding preparations are changed to those of a funeral.
Act V.

Apothecary (An old, weird drug dealer)
Friar John (A Friar. Named John. Friends with Friar Laurence, acts as his messenger)

(Romeo’s Parents)
In Mantua, Romeo learns of Juliet's death, deciding to risk his own life by returning to
Verona at once to see Juliet one last time. Romeo also buys some poison from a local
Apothecary. Gee, what for?
Friar John explains to Friar Laurence that his letter informing Romeo that Juliet is not dead, did not reach Romeo. Friar Laurence tries again to inform Romeo of his plan and heads off to the Capulet burial chamber where Juliet will soon awaken.
Paris mourns his bride that never was. Romeo arrives, opening Juliet's coffin to look at his love one last time. Paris sees Romeo, and thinks he’s there to desecrate the grave of
Juliet. Romeo just wants Paris to leave, but he won’t, so they fight. Paris dies, and no one’s really that sad (because he’s a weeny). Romeo puts him right next to Juliet.
When he looks at her closely, Romeo sees that Juliet is dead, so Romeo takes his poison, kisses Juliet and dies. Friar Laurence arrives to tell Romeo that Juliet isn’t really dead, but shows up too late. Juliet wakes up, asks for her Rome, but sees that he’s dead. Friar
Laurence leaves, leaving Juliet alone. Juliet kisses Romeo, trying to get the poison from his lips, but it doesn’t work, so she stabs herself, and dies. The Prince, Capulets, and
Montagues arrive, and Friar Laurence explains everything that happened (Romeo and
Juliet fell in love, got married, Romeo ran away when he was banished, Juliet had a potion to make her look dead, Romeo thought she was really dead, they both killed themselves). Escalus scolds the two families who finally end their feud.
