By the end of the year students must be able to do the following:
Dictionary skills:

to be able to find a word in a dictionary
to be able to identify nouns, verbs and adjectives in a text
to be familiar with some words which have different meanings.
Reading skills:
-
to be familiar with and be able to use the basic reading strategies (title,
subtitle, 1st sentence, last sentence, key words)
to be able to use skimming and scanning
to be familiar with different types of texts (notes, letters, ads, postcards, short
articles)
to be able to answer HOTS questions (contrast, comparison, analysis,
predicting, etc.)
Vocabulary skills:

to be familiar with and to be able to use the rules of translation from English

to use what is done in class to enrich vocabulary
